Lightmatter (May 2024-Present) Photonic Characterization Engineer
OFDR/OBR measurement and characterization of edge couplers and the reflection from the edge couplers and v-grooves.
Characterization of PIC devices with LUNA: OFDR measurement and analysis of different silicon photonics test cells for polarization dependent loss and back scatter.
Hardware test script development with pytest and debugging of optical equipment.
Development of DFT test cells with for back scatter measurement of different silicon photonics structures.
Polarization-dependent loss characterization of optical devices.
Developed an algorithm for automated testing on an edge-coupled optical test setup where I could reduce the coupling loss to less than -2 dBm for each edge coupler with my developed code for coordinate and angle optimization.
Developed a GUI to do the edge coupling alignment (DEVA).
Coordinated with MTV team for setting up the lab setup for edge coupling and fiber attachment.
Developed python code drivers for Keysight photodetectors and lasers to do automated spectrum measurement.

Built a vertical die level coupler from ground up and collaborated with the mechanical design team to 3D print custom parts for fiber alignment that can adapt with off the shelve equipments saving the company at least over 200K by avoiding to buy built test station.

Development of optical circuit switching circuits for interposer design and routing algorithms designed for reduction of optical loss and crosstalk in C++ and python.
Driver development for Lab equipment using pyvisa and serial ports for OPM, SMUs and integration of the tools with the test station API in python.
Layout automated design and routing of active cells with GDS factory.
Researched Contra-Directional Couplers (CDC) and proposed a patent for the utilization of these devices in Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) applications (resulted in 3 publications and two patents).
Designed Silicon photonic interposers for 2.5D systems where I performed device level simulations (FDTD and MODE) and incorporated these models for design of optical systems (Python, INTERCONNCET and Verilog-A).
Streamlined the process of layout design with custom GDS using python and GDS factory and GDS-tk.
Became proficient in designing and operating automated test stations for the measurement and validation of photonic devices (Maple Leaf).
