During this period, I have yet to start working for WB Asia, as the employer was not ready to employ me during this week. During the time, I performed research on the company's content and social media to gain an understanding of the company and the projects I will be working on.
Other than that, there were not much else that happened during this week
The first week of working with WB Asia, I was briefed by the director of WB Asia, Dr. Lalua Rahsiad about the project I will be working on; a podcast based on financial literacy Money Queen Money Talk. The company finished the first season of Money Talk in September. Dr. Lalua Rahsiad wanted the second season to be improved in terms of quality of recording and content, which I was in charge of.
Other than that, I was also tasked to come up with a concept for a new talk show program, titled Money Queen Cross Border. Money Queen Cross Border is a talk show where Dr. Lalua Rahsiad will be interviewing people from around the world to talk about how they perceive money based on their life experience and society.
Thirdly, Dr. Lalua Rahsiad said that she wanted to create a 1 hour long, semi documentary podcast/talk show, which during the time did not have a concept for. Therefore, I was tasked with coming up with the concept for this third project as well.
Other than that, the first week at WB Asia was fairly uneventful, with me joining meetings for the company's monthly meeting and being explained the office etiquettes etc.
This week, I was informed that I needed to attend a photoshoot event for the company's corporate event as an attendant for the event's guests. During the meeting, me and the other employees involved went through the video script that will be recorded during the photoshoot for the marketing, as well as the rundown for the photoshoot itself. I learned about Dr. Lalua's other colleagues from outside the company, Dr. Akmal and Dr. Kamril who will be joining the photoshoot on Sunday, 26 October.
On the date itself, I arrived at Nabil Nadir Studio, a photography studio before the call time of 3.00PM, and the photoshoot occurred rather uneventfully, despite a slight delay from Dr. Akmal's side. The photoshoot ended at around 7.30PM, and we were given a 1 day off at a later date.
This week was another rather uneventful week for my internship. I only had one meeting to discuss about the three projects (which was grouped under one department called MQ Motion). During the meeting, we discussed about the concept notes for all three projects and how to best execute it.
Other than that, there were one minor meeting I attended to look over the budgeting for our company's other event, and I presented my 30-60-90 planning in the company.
This week I joined Dr. Lalua as she attended a talk at University of Wollongong in Glenpark, Shah Alam, Selangor. I joined her as a media person, and recorded her talk in its entirety. The event was on Tuesday, 4 November and the event finished by 2.30PM.
Other than that, I attended a meeting myself to discuss about the timeline of the Money Talk Podcast as well as the budgeting for it.
This week, I helped the Chief Executive Officer in WB Asia, Jason Chin with some MOU Post-Signing Interview as a media person. He had two separate signing sessions throughout Monday, 10 November and the event finished by 2PM the same day.
I also attended a few meeting under MQ Motion to discuss about the finalisation of the concept note for the MQ Motion projects. Other than that, I was tasked to become an editor for an e-learning video project, labelled iB which was lead by the company's senior officer, Ayushi Jain.
This week was a somewhat uneventful week in terms of things happening. I joined Jason Chin's presentation that he needed to conduct in order to become a HRD Certified trainer at the end of the week, but other than that there was not much else to do. I spent most of the time in this week helping Ayushi and Evin Lina, who was working on project iB's concept note and rundown.
This week, we had a pre-video shoot for the e-learning video project, where I helped Ayushi to create a mock video in order to visualise how the project would look like. On Friday, 28 November there was a small restructuring meeting within the company, and I was given a task to edit shorts/reels for Dr. Lalua's Instagram and YouTube channel. We then had another meeting at the end of the week to discuss over the iB's video script.
This week, I showcased my first project which was Money Queen Cross Border's first episode, where Dr. Lalua sat down with Aisha Ansari, the founder of MONOS HQ in Manchester, United Kingdom. There was a small amount of amendments that needed to be done for this video, which I worked on over the week.
During the time, I still attended a meet for the aforementioned e-learning iB project to further look over the script, which at the time was unfinished and unsatisfactory for Dr. Lalua Rahsiad.
This week I finished my Money Queen Cross Border amendments, and Dr. Lalua greenlit it to be published on YouTube and LinkedIn for 18 December. I was then tasked with making the marketing for the show and presented it on Thursday, 11 December.
Other than that, I attended more meeting for project iB and also made more mock recording with the help of Ayushi Jain, while intermittenly editing it as well as the shorts/reels, which was called Click Baits.
This week was the airing for the Money Queen Cross Border's first video in the series. The video had garnered 357 views on linked in and 78 views on YouTube, which Dr. Lalua considered as acceptable for a debut project. Other than that, we had the full shooting of the first three courses for project iB which has been approved by Dr. Lalua a few days before. The shooting was done on Friday, 19 December and took the entire day to finish.
This week, I spent the entire week working on editing for project iB. Here, I struggled a lot due to my own inexperience editing a green screen focused video, as well as due to the clashing of opinions between me and the project lead, Ayushi. Ayushi had a different vision than I had for the video, and unfortunately due to a lack of effective communication, many of our review session ended with vague and unhelpful amendment comments.
This week was spent more on working on the first video of project iB still. I was then informed at the last minute that Ayushi Jain will be leaving the company on 30 December, and that I was also supposed to submit the final iteration of the first course by that date. However, due to the ineffective discussion and review sessions, I was still working on the first 5 minutes of the video by that date, and had to crunch the rest of the video in an almost last-minute editing to meet the deadline. It was with no surprise by then that Dr. Lalua was not satisfied with the result, and the deadline was extended to the next Wednesday, 7 January.
This week was very tiring for me, as I had to finish all three project iB video this week in order to meet the deadline by Friday, 9 January. I had a discussion with Dr. Lalua and Ms. Hamidah on why I had failed to meet the deadline for this, where I explained to them that a lack of clear vision and ineffective discussion was the main reason for it. Dr. Lalua then agreed to extend the deadline for the second and third project iB video to the next Friday, 16 January.
This week I managed to finish up all three of project iB videos by the deadline, where Dr. Lalua was somewhat satisfied with the end product. As Evin Lina, who was the original scriptwriter and Ayushi Jain, the original lead for the project had both left the company, project iB was then transferred to Jason Chin, who is now the Content Director for Money Queen; a sub-team under WB Asia. At the same time this week, I attended a meeting about the company's new venture; a gamified financial literacy app called project Maven. I attended a Final Demo showcase on Friday, 16 January before the finalised showcase of the iB videos.
In this week, there was a tiny restructuring within the Money Queen team, where me and Wan Alif Syafiq was moved under the MQ Content team; which will be in charge of helping another new team under Money Queen, MQ Portal team who is working on a brand new online learning platform, project MQP. During this week, we had a meeting between the Content team; me (E-Course/Motion), Wan Alif (Comic, Book, Forum), and Lingges (Webinar, Ticketing) alongside the Technical team, who will be implementing the features that we would be suggesting into the site. I also attended a meeting where the Technical team was showcasing the comparison between the learning platforms that they will be utilising.
