Christine Brandes
Following a distinguished international singing career, during which she was acclaimed for her radiant, crystalline voice and superb musicianship across a broad repertoire, Christine Brandes now brings her passionate and insightful energies to the podium, garnering praise for performances in the opera house and on the symphonic stage. She has been a dear friend of Ami’s for over 25 years and is honored to participate in this celebration.

Ezra Buchla
Ezra Buchla
Ezra Buchla is a born and bred Californian musician and audio software developer, with a deep background in music technology. He is a trained violinist and violist who has studied at Oberlin and the California Institute of the Arts. His work over the past 20 years has included hardware and software product development, as well as a diverse array of custom tools for individual artists and researchers. In addition to working on musical sound production, Buchla has done significant work in the field of hearing-assistance technology and AAA game development. He has performed and recorded both solo and with numerous groups, and you can find a partial discography here.
His life goal is ultimately to connect people to enriching, empowering, exciting sonic experiences - variously as a toolmaker, a toymaker, a musicmaker or an assistive technologist.

Eugenia Cheng
Eugenia Cheng is a mathematician, educator, author, public speaker, concert pianist, artist and composer. She is Scientist in Residence at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, won tenure in Pure Mathematics at the University in Sheffield, and holds a PhD in pure mathematics from the University of Cambridge. She was an early pioneer of math on YouTube and has written nine popular math books including "Beyond Infinity" which was shortlisted for the Royal Society Science Book Prize, "Is Math Real?" which won the 2024 LA Times Book Prize for Science and Technology. and two children's books. She has given talks and interviews around the world including for the BBC, NPR, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She wrote the Everyday Math column for the Wall Street Journal for seven years, and has completed several art commissions and song commissions, including one for a GRAMMY nominated album. Her most recent book is "Unequal: The math of when things do and don't add up".

Nina Fefferman
Fefferman is the founding Director and PI of the US NSF Center for Analysis and Prediction of Pandemic Expansion (APPEX) and recently concluded her 4 year run as the Director of the National Institute for Modeling Biological Systems (NIMBioS). Fefferman right in the middle of a move from University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she was a Professor in both the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and the Department of Mathematics to Arizona State University, where she will be the Director for the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences. Her research uses mathematical modeling to explore the behavior, evolution, and control of complex systems. She is interested both in the application of standard modeling methods to tackle new questions, and in developing novel methods (most frequently in the area of networks science) when no current appropriate technique exists.

Margaret Fisher
Margaret Fisher, choreographer and interdisciplinary performance artist, pairs gestural language to new and old technologies. In 1977, Fisher and choreographer Nancy Lewis created the first real-time bi-coastal duet (NY-SF) for the groundbreaking satellite transmission Send/Receive, organized by Keith Sonnier and Richard Lowenberg in coordination with NASA. Her choreography for Thermographic Video Cartoons, also for Lowenberg, repurposes thermal image technology created for the Vietnam War. In 2024 she choreographed Trimpin’s “Cello Quartet” for four robotic cellos and circus artists. Her company MAFISHCO, a performance and production group, works with lasers, walkie-talkies, multi-image orchestras, cloud chambers, and recently, a robotic heron. Their award-winning work toured art festivals-across-disciplines in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Japan. Her academic publications include “Ezra Pound’s Radio Operas: the BBC experiments from 19231 to 1933; “Radia,” the history of Italian Futurist radio art from 1926 to 1939; and a study of the Dudley Murphy, Fernand Léger, George Antheil and Ezra Pound collaboration that used Pound’s theory of Great Bass and overtones as the rhythmic organizing principle to sequence the 1924 film “Ballet mécanique.”

Erica Graham
Erica Graham
Erica Graham is an associate professor of mathematics at Bryn Mawr College. Her research is in mathematical biology with applications to endocrinology. Her work focuses on mechanisms of dysfunction in ovulation, metabolism, and at their intersection. Professor Graham is also a co-founder of the Mathematically Gifted and Black (MGB) website, a founding member of the MGB-SIAM Early-Career Fellowship, and a past recipient of the Association for Women in Mathematics Presidential Recognition Award.
Hao Huang
Hao Huang
(Tseng) Hao Huang (黄俊豪) is a Hakka Chinese American concert pianist, published scholar, narrator, playwright, composer and the Bessie and Cecil Frankel Endowed Chair in Music at Scripps College. Havinag served as a United States Information Agency Artistic Ambassador on several overseas tours to Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Huang continues to be active as a concert pianist in the USA and abroad. His scholarship includes the Article of the Year Award in American Music Teacher (MTNA journal) and other articles in refereed journals of Great Britain Hungary, Greece, Japan, China and the USA. His scholarly work has been recognized by the Chronicle of Higher Education, the Washington Post and National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition”.
