I am an Assistant Professor of Structural Engineering at the School of Architecture, Kashmir. Previously, I pursued my Ph.D. in the Structural Engineering Division of the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Bombay, withProf. Arghadeep Laskar and Prof. Sauvik Banerjee. My doctoral research was supported by the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF), which I was awarded in recognition of my academic and research potential.
Before embarking on my academic journey at IIT Bombay in January 2021, I served as a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Srinagar, for two years. My academic and professional experiences have shaped my deep interest in structural health monitoring (SHM) and sustainable infrastructure.
My research focuses on promoting sustainable construction practices by incorporating advanced materials like Fibre-Reinforced Polymers (FRPs). I specialize in using cutting-edge techniques—such as acoustic emission, guided wave sensing, and fibre optic sensor technologies—to monitor and assess the performance of FRP-reinforced concrete structures.
Through my work, I strive to advance the fields of structural engineering and SHM, contributing to the development of safe, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure systems.
