The process

It can be confusing, hopefully the below outline simplifies "what you need to do" and "what to expect"

In Class

  1. Get your permit.
  2. Sign up for the class, see the dates of upcoming classes on the "upcoming classes" tab above. Fill out the in class registration form completely. (see registration forms tab above) and return it to the office with a $150 dollar deposit to hold your spot.
  3. Come to the 8 classes over the two week period specified.
  4. At the conclusion of the class we will add you to our drive log and you will be called to schedule drive times in the order you were registered with us. We work on a first come first serve basis. But we will call!
  5. When we call we will schedule the 8 hours of drive time with you. If you do not answer we will try any other numbers you provided but we need to talk with you... ensure your mail box is active and not full. Some drivers may text you if they are trying to contact you.
  6. After the driving is completed, your classes were all attended and payment is satisfied... We will then issue a DT certificate. This is the certificate you need to schedule your drivers exam in the state of OHIO. This can be mailed or picked up at the office. Please allow 48 hours after your last appointment for processing. DO NOT schedule your drivers exam until you have this certificate in hand!
  7. Take your test. When you go to the exam station you need your permit, DT certificate, and completed and notarized 50 hour affidavit. To schedule your exam... go on line at www.ohiodrivingtest.com (they prefer this) or if you do not have Internet service call them to make an appointment at 1-877-439-8378. As a last resort you could call the Norwalk or Fremont drivers exam station directly.
  8. If you need to use a vehicle to take your drivers exam or would like a refresher driving day before your test... call our office, we offer that service to our students.

On Line

  1. Get your permit.
  2. Sign up for on line classes with an approved provider (see our link to Aceable), and start them!
  3. Once you receive your "certificate of enrollment" after completing two modules... submit that, your payment, and the on line registration form to our office. (see registration forms tab above)
  4. We will add you to our drive log at that time and you will be called to schedule drive times in the order you were registered with us. (If you registered somewhere else and are waiting forever, sorry, we will not bump you ahead of our students) We work on a first come first serve basis. But we will call! Keep working on those on line classes in the mean time.
  5. When we call we will schedule the 8 hours of drive time with you. If you do not answer we will try any other numbers you provided but we need to talk with you... ensure your mail box is active and not full. Some drivers may text you if they are trying to contact you.
  6. After the driving is completed and you turn in your "certificate of completion" from the on line provider. We will then issue a DT certificate. This is the certificate you need to schedule your drivers exam in the state of OHIO. This can be mailed or picked up at the office. Please allow 48 hours after your last appointment for processing. DO NOT schedule your drivers exam until you have this certificate in hand!

Our driving instructors are all highly trained and experienced professionals. They receive approximately two months of training when hired on with us. They attend annual and three year continuing education courses to maintain their eligibility. They have been checked out thru both the FBI and BCI before we even consider hiring them. And they have exemplary driving records which has been verified through the Ohio BMV. These are monitored annually to ensure continued compliance. Each instructor license is issued by the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

We hope you feel comfortable putting them in a car with us for this instruction, you will definitely notice the difference. But KEEP THEM DRIVING there is no substitute for experience.
