PRIVACY POLICY - Amelix - Short Dramas
Last Updated: October 14, 2026
1. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") is issued by Code Connect Technologies ("we," "us," or "our"). It governs the data practices for our mobile application, Amelix - Short Dramas (the "App"), and all related services (the "Services").
About Amelix: Amelix is a short drama discovery and viewing application that allows users to find and watch short-form drama series, organised into bite-sized episodes, across a variety of genres. Videos in the App are either hosted on YouTube and played through the YouTube embedded player, as described in Section 6, or hosted and delivered directly by us. Some dramas are created in whole or in part with artificial intelligence tools. The application provides features including but not limited to Short Drama Viewing, Trending and Top Charts, Search by Title and Genre, Continue Watching, My List and Watch History, Subtitles and Playback Speed Options, Autoplay Next Episode, Drama Sharing, Content Reporting, and notifications for new episodes and drama suggestions. The App is free to use and supported by advertising. The following Privacy Policy sets out how your data is handled in connection with this service.
This Policy is a legally binding agreement. By downloading, installing, or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the data practices described herein. If you do not agree with this Policy, you must not use the Services. For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, we are the Data Controller of your Personal Data processed through the App, except for data that third parties, including Google and YouTube, collect directly from your device as independent controllers.
2. OUR PRIVACY COMMITMENT
Our approach to privacy is founded on the following core principles:
2.1. Transparency: We are committed to being open and clear about how we handle your data.
2.2. Purpose Limitation: We will only collect and process your data for the specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes articulated in this Policy.
2.3. Data Minimization: We adhere to the principle of collecting only the data that is strictly necessary to provide and improve our services. The App does not require you to create an account or to sign in with a Google or YouTube account, and does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or precise location.
2.4. Security by Design: We integrate robust security measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your Personal Data.
2.5. Local-First Processing: Your watch history, playback progress, My List, unlocked episodes and in-app settings are stored locally on your device.
2.6. User Control: You can manage how your data is used at any time, including turning off notifications, resetting your advertising ID, or changing your advertising consent choices. Further details are provided in Section 9.
3. DATA WE COLLECT AND PROCESS
3.1. Viewing and Preference Data (Processed On-Device): This is the data the App uses to deliver its core features. It includes the dramas and episodes you watch, your playback progress, your watch history, the dramas you add to My List, the episodes you have unlocked, and your language and notification settings (collectively, "Viewing Data"). Viewing Data is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. It is used to let you continue watching where you left off and to suggest dramas you may enjoy.
3.2. YouTube Content and the Embedded Player: Videos in the App are played through the YouTube embedded player. When you browse or play a video, your device connects directly to YouTube, and Google may receive information such as your IP address, device and browser information, the video you watch, your interactions with the player, and cookies or similar identifiers, as described in Section 6. We do not receive or control this information. We also use YouTube API Services to retrieve public information about videos, such as titles, thumbnails, channel names and availability status. This information relates to the videos, not to you.
3.3. Hosted Content Delivery: When you watch a drama that we host, your device requests the video from our servers. To deliver the stream, keep it secure and prevent unauthorised access, we process your IP address, device and network information, and request logs such as the video requested and the time of the request. We also use your approximate country, derived from your IP address or device settings, to show only the Content that is available in your region.
3.4. Technical & Usage Data (Collected Automatically for Service Operation and Advertising): To ensure our App functions correctly, to resolve technical issues, and to support our advertising-based model, we automatically collect certain technical data, as set out in Sections 3.5 to 3.8.
3.5. Device and Network Information: Your IP address, device manufacturer and model, operating system version, screen dimensions, time zone, network state (e.g., Wi-Fi), and system language.
3.6. Application and Advertising Identifiers: Your device's advertising identifier (e.g., Google Advertising ID on Android), the App's version, unique device identifiers, and install attribution data provided by the application marketplace from which you installed the App, such as the install referrer string and deep link parameters, which we and our attribution partners use to determine which campaign led to your installation and to open the drama shown in that campaign.
3.7. Usage and Interaction Data: Information about your interactions with the Services, such as app launches, features used, episodes watched, watch time, time spent on screens, and clicks. This also includes information about your interaction with advertisements shown to you, including rewarded advertisements used to unlock episodes.
3.8. Crash and Diagnostic Data: If the App crashes or encounters an error, crash logs and related diagnostic information (such as stack traces and device state at the time of the crash) are collected to help us fix the issue.
3.9. Communications Data (Voluntarily Provided): When you voluntarily contact us for customer support, send feedback, or submit a rating comment by email, we collect your email address and the content of your communications. This data is used exclusively to respond to your inquiries.
3.10. Push Notification Data: If you allow notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging assigns your installation a registration token so that we can deliver notifications to your device, including reminders to continue watching and daily drama suggestions. This token is not linked to your name or email address, and you can stop its use at any time by turning off notifications for the App in your device settings.
3.11. Content Reports, IP Notices and Grievances: When you use the Report Content feature, we receive the identifier of the reported video, the reason you select and any text you choose to add. When you send us an intellectual property notice or a grievance, we also receive the information you provide, such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, signature and details of the right concerned. We use this information only to review and act on the report, notice or grievance, and we may share it with the person who supplied or claims rights in the Content so that they can respond.
4. PURPOSES AND LEGAL BASES FOR DATA PROCESSING
We only process your Personal Data when we have a valid legal basis for doing so under the data protection law that applies to you.
5. THIRD PARTY SERVICES AND PARTNERS SDKS
We integrate third-party services and Software Development Kits (SDKs) to provide and maintain the full functionality of our Services, including video playback, analytics, advertising and attribution. These partners may collect data directly from your device and typically act as independent "Data Controllers." We strongly encourage you to review their privacy policies to understand their data practices. Our primary partners include:
YouTube API Services and the YouTube embedded player (Google): https://www.google.com/policies/privacy
Google (AdMob, User Messaging Platform, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging & Remote Config): https://policies.google.com/privacy
Meta (Facebook SDK, Facebook Audience Network & Analytics): https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/
AppLovin: https://www.applovin.com/privacy/
Liftoff (Vungle): https://vungle.com/privacy/
Mintegral: https://www.mintegral.com/en/privacy/
We may add or replace advertising mediation partners over time; the current list is maintained in this Policy and updated when it changes.
6. YOUTUBE API SERVICES
6.1. Use of YouTube API Services: The App uses YouTube API Services to display and play video content. By using the App, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms. Information collected by YouTube and Google is governed by the Google Privacy Policy at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy.
6.2. Information We Access Through YouTube API Services: We access only public information about videos and channels, such as video identifiers, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, channel names, durations, and availability and embedding status, in order to build the drama catalogue and to hide videos that are no longer available. We do not access, collect or store any information about your Google or YouTube account, and the App does not ask you to sign in to YouTube. Apart from video identifiers and the way the App organises videos into series and episodes, information obtained through YouTube API Services is stored for no longer than 30 days before it is refreshed or deleted.
6.3. Information Collected by YouTube on Your Device: The embedded player is provided and operated by YouTube. When you view or interact with a video, Google may collect information directly from your device, may store, access or read cookies or similar technologies within the player, and may serve its own advertisements within the player, in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy. We do not control and do not receive this information.
6.4. Third-Party Content, Advertising and Device Access: The App allows third parties, including YouTube and the advertising and measurement partners listed in Section 5, to serve content, including advertisements, within the App. These third parties may store, access or collect information directly or indirectly on or from your device, including through cookies, local storage, SDK identifiers and your advertising identifier, as described in this Policy.
6.5. Revoking Access: The App does not request authorization to access your Google or YouTube account data. If you have granted the App access to your Google account data, you can revoke that access at any time through the Google security settings page at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
6.6. Questions and Complaints: If you have any question or complaint about how the App uses YouTube API Services, please contact us using the details in Section 15.
7. APPLICATION PERMISSIONS AND THEIR PURPOSES
Our App requests only the minimum permissions necessary to provide its features. You are in complete control of these permissions and can manage them at any time through your device's settings menu. This section explains exactly which permissions the App may request and why we need them.
8. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
We operate globally, and your Personal Data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence, where our third-party partners operate. We ensure that all such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws by using legally-recognized transfer mechanisms like standard contractual clauses or other safeguards required by the law of your country of residence.
9. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS AND CHOICES
You have rights concerning your Personal Data, subject to limitations provided by law.
9.1. Opt-Out of Personalized Advertising: You can limit ad tracking by resetting or deleting your device's advertising identifier through your device settings (e.g., On Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads). Where our consent management platform is shown to you, you can also change your advertising consent choices from within the App at any time. This will limit, but not eliminate, the ads you see.
9.2. Notifications: You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.
9.3. Formal Rights Requests: Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to Access, Rectify, or Erase the Personal Data we hold about you, or to withdraw consent you have given. Because Viewing Data is stored only on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App. Erasure requests to us will primarily apply to Technical & Usage Data, Communications Data and Content Reports associated with you, subject to Section 10.3. To exercise any of your rights, please submit a formal request to the email address provided in Section 15.
9.4. Data Collected by YouTube: Requests concerning information that YouTube or Google collects through the embedded player should be directed to Google, using the tools and contact options described in the Google Privacy Policy.
10. DATA RETENTION
10.1. Technical & Usage Data is collected and stored by our analytics and advertising partners acting on our behalf or as independent controllers. Where we control the retention period, that data is retained for up to 24 months from the date of collection, or until it is no longer necessary for the purposes described in Section 4, whichever is earlier. Retention by independent controllers is governed by their own privacy policies, linked in Section 5.
10.2. We retain Communications Data (the content of your support inquiries and correspondence with us) for up to 24 months following the resolution of your inquiry, to allow us to handle any follow-up questions or complaints.
10.3. We retain Content Reports for as long as necessary to review and act on the report, and in any event for no longer than 24 months after the report is closed. IP notices and grievances, and our related correspondence, may be kept for as long as necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
10.4. Request logs from the delivery of Hosted Content are kept only for the limited period needed for delivery, security and fraud prevention.
10.5. Advertising identifiers are controlled directly through your device's operating system settings; we do not separately retain them beyond your active use of the Services.
10.6. Information obtained through YouTube API Services is retained as described in Section 6.2. Retention of information that YouTube or Google collects through the embedded player is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
10.7. Notwithstanding the periods above, we may retain data for a longer period where required to comply with a legal obligation, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements, and we will securely delete or anonymize data once it is no longer needed for these purposes.
11. RIGHTS UNDER THE LAW OF YOUR COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE
We apply the data protection law of the country or state in which you reside. Depending on that law, in addition to the rights described in Section 9, you may have some or all of the following rights:
11.1. to receive your Personal Data in a portable format, to restrict its processing, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest;
11.2. to know the categories of Personal Data we process and the categories of third parties with which we share it;
11.3. to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your Personal Data, or of its use for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. Our use of third-party advertising SDKs may be considered such sharing or targeted advertising under some laws. You can opt out at any time by contacting us at the address in Section 15, and you may additionally reset or delete your device advertising identifier as described in Section 9.1. We do not sell your Personal Data for monetary consideration;
11.4. to nominate another person to exercise your rights on your behalf, and to have your grievances addressed within the time required by that law; and
11.5. to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 15, and we will respond in accordance with the law that applies to you. The legal bases we rely on are detailed in the table in Section 4.
12. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
12.1. Not Directed at Children: The Amelix App and all related Services are strictly intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under the age of 13, or such higher minimum age as required by the law of your country of residence.
12.2. No Collection from Minors: We comply with the children's privacy laws that apply to the Services. We do not knowingly solicit, collect, or maintain personal information from children below that minimum age.
12.3. Enforcement and Deletion: If we become aware that a child has provided us with Personal Data, we will take steps to delete such information immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us immediately.
13. DATA SECURITY
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption of data in transit, restricted access to systems, and periodic review of our third-party processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a personal data breach is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the competent supervisory authority and, where required, affected users, in accordance with applicable law.
14. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the App or by other means to allow you to review the changes before they become effective. Your continued use of the Services after a revision becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
