Short biography

A brief story

After seven years of teaching English - or French - in Canada, the UK and the US, to a varied public (from pupils in primary schools to university students) I decided to head back to France and complete a Ph.D. at Université Bordeaux Montaigne. I have taught English at Université Bordeaux Montaigne and Université Paris 1 - Panthéon Sorbonne.

Research-wise, with a background in American literature, I look at authors' paratext and image, studying the making of writers' myths through a variety of media. I am also interested in how a writer's image is received by readers online.

My projects : main questions

American literature and visual culture:

How is an image built by an author and their literary intermediaries to create a myth, a persona?

Digital humanities:

How do readers' communities reinterpret/remediate the image of their favorite writer?
