Amelia Taylor is located in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is pursuing a BFA in Dance from the Alonzo King LINES Program at Dominican University of California. She has declared a Minor in Community Action and Social Change, and is in the Honors Program.
Throughout her elementary and high school years, Amelia trained with Mendocino Ballet under the direction of Trudy McCreanor. During high school, she took dual-enrollment courses at Mendocino College in many academic and artistic disciplines. There, she gained foundational skills in Modern, Contemporary, Improvisation, and Choreography.
Amelia has worked with many San Francisco Bay Area choreographers including Gregory Dawson, Maurya Kerr, Tristan Ching, and Alex Ketley, as well as national and international choreographers such as Kim Robards and Alessio Silvestrin.
Amelia believes that dance is an integral and necessary part of our society, and is glad to have found a program that shares her values. At Dominican, the dance majors commute into San Francisco each morning to take class at Alonzo King LINES Dance Center. There, they are connected to a network of brilliant artists. As one of the few dance programs in the world affiliated with a professional company, the LINES BFA Program has a very unique opportunity to work with and learn from this thriving, beautiful network. Throughout Amelia's four years in this program, she plans to take full advantage of this opportunity, and use the tools LINES provides her with to help develop and fine-tune her movement artistry and practice.
