1. Introduction
ChillAndCode ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Ambient Timer Light ("the Application") handles your information when you use our mobile application.
Ambient Timer Light is designed as an offline-first ambient night light and sleep timer utility. We believe in minimal data collection: the Application itself does NOT collect, store, sell, or transmit any of your personal data.
2. Information Collection and Use
a) Personal Data
We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or precise geographical location. No account creation or registration is required to use the Application.
b) Local Data Storage
All user preferences (such as your chosen ambient light color, timer duration, timer unit, screen brightness level, and daily completion status) are stored strictly locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences. This information never leaves your device and can be erased at any time by clearing the application data or uninstalling the app.
3. Third-Party Services & Advertising
The Application uses Google AdMob (provided by Google LLC) to display advertisements. Google AdMob may automatically collect and process certain non-personal device information in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
Data that may be processed by Google AdMob includes:
IP address (used for approximate general location, such as country or city)
Device identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID / AAID)
Diagnostic data, crash logs, and app performance metrics
Ad interaction data for fraud detection, analytics, and billing purposes

Android Settings > Google > Ads > Delete advertising ID or Reset advertising ID.
4. Permissions Used by the Application
Ambient Timer Light only requests permissions strictly necessary for its intended core features:
a) Device Administrator Permission (android.permission.BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN)
Purpose: This permission is completely optional. It allows the app to automatically turn off and lock the device screen (DevicePolicyManager.lockNow()) when your countdown sleep timer expires, saving your battery while you sleep.
Scope: The application only invokes the screen lock action. It does NOT wipe data, monitor user activity, alter passwords, or enforce any security policies.
User Control: You can activate or deactivate this permission at any time in the app settings, or in your Android system settings under Security > Device Admin Apps.
b) Internet & Network State (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE)
Purpose: Required solely by the Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) SDK to load advertisements.
c) Keep Screen On (FLAG_KEEP_SCREEN_ON)
Purpose: Prevents the ambient light from prematurely dimming or sleeping while your countdown timer is actively running.
5. Children's Privacy
The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take immediate action.
6. Data Security
We value your trust. Because the Application does not transmit personal data to external private servers, your personal data is never held by us. Third-party advertising networks (Google AdMob) utilize industry-standard encryption (HTTPS) for all data in transit.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
