Ambie Abaño implores people to take a pause. In doing so, the viewer creates in themselves a kind of quiet and solitude only present within. All thoughts and concerns about the external world slowly come to a halt and consciousness is turned inwards towards an interior world.
"... still-ness..." is a continuation of the artist's introspective journey which she embarked upon years ago. Through these works, she explores her present moment, relying on the visual form to depict her current experience and where she is in this grand adventure.

Given her penchant for the mercurial nature of self-reflection, it should come as no surprise that Abaño enjoys the unpredictability of printmaking. As in the act of letting go and giving oneself to the stillness of each point in time, the practice of printmaking is much the same.
The nature of the medium requires one to take risks, trust the process, and accept that no printmaker truly has full control of their output.
