M.S. Student

Department of Geology and Geophysics

University of Wyoming

I grew up in North-Eastern New Mexico and earned my Bachelor of Science in Geology from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. My lifetime in New Mexico gave me a huge appreciation for geology. I have always spent time outdoors hiking, horseback riding, and especially rockhounding.

I am currently a master's student at the University of Wyoming under Dr. Jamie McFarlin focused on organic geochemistry and biogeochemical cycling.

Interests

I am primarily interested in organic geochemistry with an emphasis on lipid biomarkers to better understand past paleoclimatic conditions. My current research applies this along with bulk geochemical analysis to understand organic enrichment within the Mowry Shale.
