Projects and other works done outside of timetabled education
Early 2026 I started to mess around with GarageBand because I wanted to make some of my own music for my project "Gaze". I have since used it to make a quick looping track for a game jam project "Pub Crawl" and other kinds of songs as personal learning hobbies. I would like to use a more complex software like FL studio to make something more bespoke with fewer preset instrument loops and on PC instead of my phone.
I have been interested in pixel art for a long time but only pushed the button on learning how to draw and drawing for fun using it in my free time. I have used Photoshop in academic projects for pixel art and at home for recreational purposes I use Aseprite with plugins as it is tailor made for pixel artists. I have drawn plenty of things from fanart to profile pictures and my phone wallpaper, and have a good understanding of different eras of pixel art and styles you can achieve with it.
I have also done some very light experimentation with game engines other than Unreal. As I haven't learned C++ or C# at the moment, I am limited in what I can pull off, but I figured it would be a good idea to explore a bit. I've touched on Gamemaker, Unity, Godot & several versions of RPG Maker while seeing what it's like to use those engines.
3 examples of looping tracks made in GarageBand for various purposes. Mostly using preset loops, but some manually recorded loops too and all are arranged / tuned manually.
Headphones recommended!
Menu theme loop for "Gaze"
Background music loop for "Pub Crawl"
Short house music loop
Experience here is limited but I am always learning and open to trying new things!
