Data sharing and use policy

The following terms and conditions are offered as a guide for sharing and using the data contained in the database. These have been adapted from those proposed by the ‘Amazon Tree Diversity Network’ (ATDN - http://atdn.myspecies.info), and must be made available to all members and/or users of the AmazonArch database.

  1. The basic principle is that data will be treated confidentially;
  2. The members of the AmazonArch network are:
    1. Researchers who have compiled archaeological data from published sources;
    2. Researchers who provide primary data;
  3. AmazonArch members have priority for using the database over external researchers;
  4. Each AmazonArch member will be contacted prior to any proposed analysis that uses the AmazonArch database, will be able to read the manuscript before submission and will be given the opportunity to be co-author of all papers in which his/her data is being used;
  5. External researchers who wish to use the database must specify and justify which data he/she intends to use (i.e., from which region, which data fields). Only the specific data requested will be made available for external researchers;
  6. Members have the right to request the removal of their data from the database or from specific analyses or manuscripts at any time;
  7. Data from the AmazonArch database will not be forwarded to anyone without prior consent;
  8. Raw data will not be published;
  9. AmazonArch members have the right to propose manuscripts, request data and lead-author research and papers using the database.
