If you want best in ear headphones for motorcycle that offer true wireless freedom and long battery life, choose Amazon Renewed Plantronics; if you need best open ear headphones for motorcycle or a reliable tethered solution for stationary work where AI noise cancellation is non-negotiable, choose Cyber Acoustics AC-304C.
• Amazon Renewed Plantronics Voyager 4220: Delivers up to 12 hours of talk time with a 98-foot wireless range, making it the superior choice for mobility, but its over-the-head design can feel heavy during extended wear compared to lighter alternatives.
• Cyber Acoustics AC-304C: Features advanced AI-powered noise cancellation and an ultra-lightweight build with cooling bio-leatherette pads, yet it restricts movement with a fixed 8-foot cable that limits roaming capabilities.
• The Verdict on Fit: The Plantronics is built for professionals who need to roam freely across large spaces or ride a bike without wires, while the Cyber Acoustics excels for those seated in busy offices or travel environments where background noise must be aggressively filtered out by software.
This headset is engineered for people who refuse to be tethered to their desk. The Voyager 4220 UC is a dual-ear binaural unit designed specifically for professionals who need the freedom to move around a workspace or navigate a commute without worrying about signal loss. With a stated roaming range of up to 98 feet in line-of-sight conditions, you can step away from your computer to grab coffee, walk through a hallway, or even mount this unit securely while riding a motorcycle without losing connection to your mobile device or PC. The Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity allows seamless switching between devices, which is critical for someone managing multiple calls or needing to take a mobile call while wearing the headset.
The audio performance relies on dual microphones intended to block out ambient noise for the person on the other end of the line. While it uses passive noise cancellation through its over-ear cup design rather than active electronic processing, the physical seal helps isolate your voice. For a rider on a motorcycle, this physical isolation is often more practical than digital processing that might struggle with wind noise. You get up to 12 hours of talk time and 15 hours of listen time on a single charge, ensuring the battery lasts through a full workday or a long day of riding without needing a mid-day recharge. The unit includes a two-year global warranty, providing a safety net for a renewed product that has been professionally inspected and tested to look and work like new.

However, this freedom comes with a trade-off in weight and form factor. At 12.8 ounces, this is a substantial piece of hardware compared to single-ear units. The over-ear cups enclose the entire ear, which provides good sound isolation but can trap heat during hot summer rides or long office shifts. If you prioritize absolute lightness or need to hear ambient traffic sounds clearly without the bulk of over-ear cups, this might not be the ideal fit. It is also worth noting that the frequency response is optimized for voice clarity (85 Hz - 255 Hz), meaning it is not designed for high-fidelity music listening but strictly for professional communication.
The Cyber Acoustics AC-304C targets a different user entirely: the professional who needs crystal-clear voice transmission in chaotic environments but stays relatively stationary. This headset utilizes AI-powered noise cancellation, a significant technological leap over standard analog filtering. The system is designed to identify and block out specific background distractions like barking dogs, airport chatter, or office HVAC hum, ensuring only your voice reaches the listener. For a motorcyclist who occasionally stops to take a call in a noisy parking lot, or an office worker dealing with a loud open-plan environment, this active noise control is a game-changer.
Comfort is a central pillar of this design. Weighing just 0.11 kg, it is significantly lighter than the Plantronics option. The earpads are made from bio-leatherette, a material chosen specifically to stay cool during extended use. This makes it an excellent candidate for long shifts where sweat buildup under heavier headsets becomes painful. The "on-ear" design, featuring rounded earpieces, sits lightly on the ear rather than enclosing it completely, offering a different sensation that many users prefer for all-day wear. The inclusion of a protective carry bag and a USB-C to USB-A adapter makes it highly portable for travelers who need a quick setup anywhere.
The primary limitation here is the tethered nature of the device. With an 8-foot cable (comprising a 5-foot headset cord and a 3-foot controller cord), you cannot roam freely. If you are trying to use this as best in ear headphones for motorcycle, the cable becomes a hazard unless you route it carefully, and the lack of Bluetooth means you cannot easily switch to a mobile phone while riding. The inline controller offers volume and mute functions with LED indicators, which is convenient, but the physical wire anchors you to your computer or power source. This headset is best suited for hybrid work setups where you sit at a desk, a home office, or a conference room table, rather than for dynamic activities requiring wireless mobility.
• Best for Battery Life and Freedom: Choose the Amazon Renewed Plantronics if you need 12+ hours of uninterrupted talk time and the ability to move 98 feet away from your device without dropping the call.
• Best for Noise Cancellation Technology: Choose the Cyber Acoustics AC-304C if your priority is AI-driven suppression of complex background noises like traffic, pets, or crowd chatter during calls.
• Best for Lightweight Comfort: Choose the Cyber Acoustics AC-304C for its 0.11 kg weight and cooling bio-leatherette pads, ideal for those who find over-ear designs too heavy or hot.
• Best for Motorcycle Riding: Choose the Amazon Renewed Plantronics as the top choice for riders; the wireless capability eliminates tangled cords, and the over-ear seal helps manage wind noise better than an on-ear design.
• Best for Office/Desk Work: Choose the Cyber Acoustics AC-304C if you spend most of your day seated at a computer where the wired connection ensures zero latency and the AI mic handles noisy coworkers.
• Best for Multi-Device Switching: Choose the Amazon Renewed Plantronics for its ability to connect simultaneously to a mobile phone via Bluetooth and a PC via a USB adapter.
• Best for Travel Setup Simplicity: Choose the Cyber Acoustics AC-304C for its plug-and-play USB-C connectivity and included carrying case, perfect for tossing into a bag and using immediately upon arrival.
• Best for Durability and Warranty: Choose the Amazon Renewed Plantronics for its robust two-year global warranty compared to the one-year coverage on the Cyber Acoustics model.
In my opinion, for anyone looking to integrate a headset into a motorcycle lifestyle, the Amazon Renewed Plantronics Voyager 4220 is the clear winner. The wireless freedom is not just a luxury; it is a necessity for safety and convenience while riding. A tangled cable from a wired headset poses a genuine risk, whereas the 98-foot range of the Plantronics allows you to handle calls without fumbling with wires. The 12-hour battery life ensures you won't run out of power during a long ride, and the dual-microphone setup provides decent voice clarity even with engine noise. While the Cyber Acoustics offers superior AI noise cancellation, its tethered design and lighter, less isolating form factor make it a poor fit for the dynamic environment of motorcycling. I would buy the Plantronics because it prioritizes mobility and battery endurance, which are the most critical factors for a rider.
Yes, the wireless Bluetooth design and 98-foot range make it ideal for riders, allowing you to stay connected without tangled cables or the need to hold a phone.
It features AI-powered noise cancellation which is excellent for filtering out steady background chatter and office noise, though a wired headset may still pick up wind noise differently than a sealed over-ear unit.
The Amazon Renewed Plantronics offers up to 12 hours of talk time on a rechargeable battery, whereas the Cyber Acoustics AC-304C is a wired USB device that draws power directly from your computer and does not rely on a battery.
The Cyber Acoustics AC-304C is significantly lighter at 0.11 kg with cooling bio-leatherette pads, making it generally more comfortable for long stationary sessions, while the Plantronics is heavier but offers better passive isolation.
