If you want professional studio monitoring with wired precision for critical listening, choose Amazon Renewed Audio-Technica ATH-M30x; if you need to transform older Beats headphones into a wireless headset for sleeping, choose Bolle & Raven Bolle&Raven. These two items solve completely different problems, and picking the wrong one means you will end up frustrated with either a lack of battery life or an inability to use your preferred audio source without wires. I am not here to tell you which one is cheaper or which has more stars on a shopping site; I am here to help you decide based on what these devices actually do and who they fit best in your daily routine.
• Amazon Renewed Audio-Technica ATH-M30x: Its biggest strength is its professional-grade sound isolation and 40mm drivers tuned for accurate mid-range definition, but it is strictly a wired device with no built-in battery.
• Bolle & Raven Bolle&Raven: Its biggest strength is converting existing Beats Studio 2 headphones into a wireless unit with up to 12 hours of playback, but it only works with that specific older headphone model.
• Who is this for?: The Audio-Technica pick is for the audiophile or creator who needs pristine sound quality while lying down, while the Bolle & Raven pick is for someone trying to extend the life of their worn-out Beats by adding Bluetooth functionality.
The Audio-Technica ATH-M30x is engineered as a professional studio monitor, which fundamentally changes how it feels when you wear them for long periods, especially if you are trying to drift off to sleep. These headphones feature 40 mm drivers equipped with rare earth magnets and copper-clad aluminum wire voice coils. This design choice isn't just marketing fluff; it translates to enhanced detail and excellent mid-range definition. If you are someone who listens to complex music, podcasts, or white noise tracks that require clarity rather than just bass thump, these drivers deliver exactly that. The frequency range spans from 15 Hz to 22,000 Hz, ensuring that you capture the full spectrum of audio without the artificial boost often found in consumer-grade earbuds.
For the person looking for a bluetooth headset for sleeping, the primary trade-off here is the lack of wireless capability. These headphones rely on a 3.5 mm Jack connectivity technology, meaning you must be tethered to your phone or audio source. However, this wired connection offers zero latency and zero risk of a battery dying in the middle of the night. The enclosure material is aluminum, and the earpiece shape features rounded tips designed for over-ear placement. This physical build provides significant sound isolation, a crucial factor for anyone trying to block out a snoring partner or street noise without needing active noise cancellation electronics.

The collapsible design adds another layer of utility for travelers or those with limited bedside space. They fold down into a compact form, protected by a black fabric carrying case included in the package. While they weigh 220 grams, which might feel substantial compared to lightweight earbuds, the robust construction suggests they can handle years of nightly use. You get a 90-day limited warranty, which offers some peace of mind given the renewed status of the product. This item is ideal for the listener who prioritizes pure, unadulterated audio fidelity and doesn't mind managing a cable while they rest.
The Bolle & Raven adapter serves a very niche but incredibly useful purpose: it breathes new life into older Beats Studio 2 headphones by adding wireless functionality. If you have been holding onto a pair of Beats Studio 2 because you loved the comfort but hated the tangled cords, this grey adapter is the solution. It is perfectly modeled specifically for the Beats STUDIO 2.0 model, so it does not work with the Beats Solo 2 or any other brand. Once installed, it transforms your wired setup into a fully wireless experience compatible with both Apple and Android devices.
The standout feature for anyone using multipoint earphones for sleeping is the internal battery. The adapter promises up to 12 hours of uninterrupted playback and talk time. This is a game-changer for overnight use, as it ensures the audio keeps playing through the entire night without needing a charge. The built-in mic and controls allow you to switch seamlessly between phone calls and music, giving you control over volume and song skipping directly from the adapter. This eliminates the need to reach for your phone in the dark, which is a common annoyance when trying to fall asleep.
However, the limitations are strict. This is not a standalone headphone; it is an accessory that requires you to already own the specific Beats Studio 2 hardware. The dimensions of the adapter itself are small at 1.5 x 2 x 3 inches, making it discreet when attached. You receive a charging cable, a user guide, and an 18-month guarantee, which is significantly longer than the warranty offered with the Audio-Technica option. This product fits the buyer who wants the convenience of wireless freedom but refuses to buy a brand-new set of headphones. It is a practical upgrade for tech enthusiasts who like to maximize the utility of their existing gear.

If I had to choose one of these for my own nightly routine, I would select the Amazon Renewed Audio-Technica ATH-M30x. While the Bolle & Raven adapter solves a great problem for Beats owners, the Audio-Technica headphones offer a superior foundational experience. For sleeping, the deep sound isolation provided by the over-ear design and the aluminum enclosure creates a quiet sanctuary that is hard to beat. The professional audio tuning ensures that the soundscape is clear and detailed, which helps me relax without the distraction of muffled highs or muddy lows. In my opinion, investing in a dedicated pair of high-quality wired headphones is a better long-term strategy than trying to retrofit older technology, even if the Bolle & Raven option offers nice wireless convenience.
