I am available for hire as Santa Claus / Father Christmas for your event.
This could be for a shopping centre grotto, Breakfast with Santa in a restaurant, a golf club Christmas party, a school classroom present handout, Christmas markets, fairs and fetes, walkaround corporate events, or one-to-one home visits.
I have my own Santa suit, along with a Rudolph puppet and waist microphone (when needed). Rudolph talks and interacts with the children, which is one of the many things that makes my performance unique.
It should be noted that I am a slim, younger Santa who enjoys making children laugh (see the photos). My goal is to make children smile, and Rudolph often steals the limelight as the children try to pull off his nose!
If you are looking for a large, traditional Santa who sits in a chair for 30 minutes, frightening toddlers before needing a break, then I am probably not the right fit. I am much slimmer, which means I can comfortably perform for longer periods and move around freely. My primary goal is to make children smile through humour, jokes, and audience interaction.
It is important that you understand who I am and what I provide: fun, comedy, and memorable interactions. This helps ensure your expectations match the style of character you are hiring. There are many interpretations of Santa Claus, and everyone envisions something slightly different when searching for one. My portrayal is that of a younger, more energetic Santa who focuses on comedy, interaction, and creating laughs, rather than the traditional grandfatherly interpretation.
I will need somewhere private to change into and out of the costume at the venue, away from the sight of guests. It takes approximately ten minutes to get ready.
I can also be booked as a children's entertainer and magician for the first hour or 90 minutes, followed by Santa for the second hour or final half-hour (often after the children have finished eating). Timings will depend on the number of children attending and how long Santa is required.
I have done this many times before; however, some children may recognise me underneath the costume. In my experience, this is usually not a problem and can even help put them at ease.
Please note that this setup requires you or a member of staff to lower the music on my PA system and introduce Santa when it is time for me to appear.
If someone else is playing Santa, I can act as the party host by getting the children seated, introducing Santa, leading the children in Christmas songs, and playing festive music while presents are handed out.
I only work within the Stockport and Greater Manchester area.
For most one-off events, my prices are the same as booking my magic and puppet show:
£195 for one hour
£265 for two hours
£50 per additional hour thereafter
Christmas Day pricing will be quoted once I have received the details of your booking.
If you are looking for a regular engagement, such as Breakfast with Santa every weekend throughout December, please contact me with your location and event details for a bespoke quotation.
If you would like me to provide gifts, I can supply copies of my Amazing Puzzles book for just £1 each. These are supplied unwrapped.
1. Position the Christmas Tree Nearby
If there is a Christmas tree in the room, try to position it near where Santa will be seated or standing. It creates a much better backdrop for photographs.
2. Ensure Good Lighting
The best place for Santa to sit is directly beneath a good light source. Some venues can be extremely dark, and repeated flash photography from close range is uncomfortable for both children and Santa. If your venue has poor lighting, a desk lamp can make a huge difference to the quality of photographs.
3. Provide a Drink for Santa
Please provide a large glass of water (or cola) and a straw so Santa can drink through his beard. During a typical event I will be speaking in three different voices: myself, Santa, and Rudolph. Keeping hydrated is important!
4. Keep Hand Sanitiser Available
If an elf or helper could keep some hand sanitiser nearby for Rudolph's nose, it would be greatly appreciated. Children love to grab it, which is exactly why it is detachable. Since Santa is usually wearing white gloves, it is helpful if someone else can sanitise it periodically throughout the event.
