About Amarnath Yatra
Some More Information Of Amarnath Yatra
One of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimages, Amarnath is worldwide famous for the natural formation of Shiva Linga from the snow. This divine Yatra to the holy cave is opened only in the months of Shravan i.e. July and August as these are the only months when it is quite easy to access the holy cave.
The length of the trek varies from 36 to 48 km depending upon the devotion of the pilgrim. The trek usually takes 3-5 days one way. The Amarnath route is much wider than the Baltal trek and slopes gradually.
The best time to visit Amarnath is between May to September. During summers, the climate is quite considerable as it ranges between 9-34 degrees, and this might be a good time to enjoy the greenery around Amarnath, although this is not the peak season for tourists.
Kids below 13 can't undertake Amarnath Yatra, maximum age fixed at 75. The minimum and upper age limit for the Amarnath Yatra has been fixed at 13 and 75, respectively. And only those who have health fitness certificate issued by a competent authority with them will be registered for yatra.
Other Important documents you must have during the Yatra include Voter ID, Driving License, and Passport etc for your identity.
