About Me
Welcome to my web page! I am Amara Zongo, a Researcher in Circular Economy at the PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agenc. My work focuses on designing and modeling strategies for resource efficiency, recycling, and waste reduction, with a strong emphasis on Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modeling to inform evidence-based and sustainable policy decisions.
I combine expertise in circular economy transitions, international trade, and environmental economics with advanced skills in data science, machine learning, and geospatial analysis. My research often bridges quantitative modeling and policy relevance, ensuring that complex analytical insights translate into actionable recommendations.
Previously, I served as a Research Fellow at the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA), contributing to climate adaptation research and policy development in the Global South. My projects spanned climate change adaptation strategies, infrastructure investment analysis, and vulnerability mapping.
I hold a Ph.D. in International Economics from the Bordeaux School of Economics, where my doctoral research focused on the effect of trade policy. Over the years, I have worked with international organizations, academic institutions, and policy agencies to address pressing global challenges at the intersection of economics, environment, and development.
