Conversations had with Alaska DNR Mining
Q: I have some questions regarding the drill sites. Many of them are located off of recreational trails that are not large enough to support a drill rig, others are not even located on trails at all, and some are located right adjacent to Ruby Creek. How do they intend to get access for the drill rig? With a dozer or other heavy equipment creating roads to each drill site?
A: Avidian Gold is utilizing a tracked drill rig and small scale dozer/excavator for this exploration. For those drill sites that are not located on an existing trail or exploration road, spur access would be constructed by the operator.
Q: It shows that they have already extracted water from Ruby Creek in 2020 and plan on using that site again for future use. What are they using for water extraction (Tender, Skidder or dozer with water tank, pump directly from the creek to the drill sites)? Also, what additional drilling fluids/additives are being used when they drill at the sites besides water? And how is the water recycled back into the ground or dispersed on the landscape?
A: For those sites that cannot provide water directly via pump to the drill rig tanks, a water truck (tender) will be utilized. Drilling fluids/additives are listed in the MSDS attached to this email. During active drilling water is recycled through a closed system on the drill rig, with cuttings (fine pieces of rock) and muds being settled out into a drill sump, then the sump is reclaimed. With the use of the sumps and recirculation tanks, the drill water is sufficiently treated (and any remaining recycled water can either be utilized at the next drill site or discharged to the surface will no deleterious effect).
