HRLR 316: Economics of Human Capital (Fall 2022)

This course provides an introduction to the economics of human capital. Human capital is (arguably) the most valuable investment an individual can make. We will use the language of economics to discuss education, skill accumulation, on-the-job training, and various other forms of human capital investment. We will also discuss the interaction between human capital, organizations, and labor markets.

HRLR 809-002: Economics of Human Resources (Fall 2022)


The economics of human resources spans labor economics, personnel economics, contract theory, the economics of education, and the economics of discrimination, among others. In this course, we will use the language of economics to explore the interaction between workers, organizations, and labor markets. The objective of this course is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and tools to manage human resources at an organizational level and to understand broad economic trends at the labor market level.
