Amanda Burns has been working for the Yorktown Central School District beginning in May 2006. Amanda has worked in every building at Yorktown but on a regular basis she provides educational technology support to the three lower elementary schools consisting of K-5 students (Crompond, Brookside and Mohansic) with a heavy focus on 4-5. She also helps integrate technology throughout the entire district specializing in Google Apps for Education, Chromebooks, Tablets, Apple apps and support and Social Media.
Amanda graduated from the College of Westchester in 2006 with a degree in Computer Networking Administration. In 2014 she continued her education and began studying at Fordham University majoring in New Media. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelors in May 2016. Since then Amanda has taken many online and in person courses to achieve certifications in programs such as: Google Trainer and Educator, Apple Teacher, Makey Makey, Kami, FlipGrid and Epic Books. In 2019 Amanda was recognized as a "Outstanding Innovative Teacher" by the Lower Hudson Valley Regional Information Center and was awarded a Proclamation from the Westchester County Government. She is also a very active presenter at many EDTECH events.
