History

The company began around 1997 when our parents decided to open a store to meet both ends. The children at that time are studying, bills and other basic needs prices were rising. The idea came out from our parents and they tried to apply what they have learned as a business and commerce graduate. The A&M name stands for the nickname of our parents, Alice and Mario, while the word FRIEND's or FRIENDS was the word chosen by our father because he believed that the customers are our friends regardless of where they are from.

In 1998 the A&M Friend's Variety Store was opened in Sta. Rosa Street, Dumaguete City and went on for 3 years. But because of lack of manpower, the store closed in 2000.

In 1999 the A&M Friend's Eatery was opened in Building 10 of the Dumaguete City Public Market, beside the Dumaguete Belltower. Our family concentrated on the eatery because of its high demand. Packed lunch was served and delivered to workers of big establishments in Dumaguete City. Aside from that, the eatery is always packed with customers every lunchtime. The store closed when our parents died because we have our work outside of Dumaguete city. The last operation of the eatery was around 2010.

In 2017 one of the children is working in Istanbul, Turkey as a teacher and saw an opportunity to reopen the variety store in a new platform, an online shop. The store right now is catering to different products from different countries but most of its products are sourced out in Turkey.

In 2021 due to the pandemic, the same idea came out and opened the online school. The school caters to different courses and it is composed of international teachers that are working in different countries. The teachers are well experienced, dedicated, and compassionate to students who need help with their online school requirements.
