The La Crosse Walk to End Alzheimer's School Spirit Competition aims to educate younger audiences about Alzheimer's disease, to inspire hope and enthusiasm in individuals and families facing this disease, and to offer them a precious moment of relief from their challenges.
There is no fee to participate.
Foster team camaraderie or complete service hours in a positive and enjoyable atmosphere.
The winning group will receive a pizza party!
The School Spirit Competition is open to all school groups or clubs interested in fostering camaraderie and community-building to support participants in the Walk to End Alzheimer's.
Groups are judged based on their creative themes and enthusiasm (not skill).
Registration is limited to the first 16 groups on a first-come, first-served basis.
The registration deadline is Friday, September 12.
Event day details will be emailed to each group's contact approximately two weeks before the event.
Groups must be self-sufficient; no power or water will be provided.

8:00 AM: Groups may begin setting up at their assigned location in Riverside Park South, adjacent to Front St.
9:00 AM: Group introductions during the Walk opening ceremony next to the Riverside Park Bandshell.
9:45 AM: All groups must be ready in their positions on Front St.
10:00 AM: Walk begins.
10:10 AM: Approximate time of the first walker.
11:00 AM: Approximate time of the last walker.
11:15 AM: Groups can start tearing down and cleaning up. All groups must leave their space in the exact same condition as they found it.
Evening: The winning team is announced on the Walk's Facebook Group page and via email.
