I developed an IT asset management dashboard in Power BI to help monitor various assets, such as servers, laptops, and printers, with a focus on warranty expirations and risk levels. Data was cleaned and manipulated using Python, allowing for more efficient tracking and reporting.
The dashboard includes a risk matrix for prioritizing assets close to needing updates or replacements. Key visuals include a line graph tracking warranty expirations, bar charts for asset lifecycle stages and maintenance costs, and a stacked bar chart to identify high, medium, and low-risk assets by department. KPI cards summarize upcoming expirations, non-compliant assets, and total maintenance costs, with slicers for risk levels and department.
Insights revealed that IT has the most high-risk assets, while finance and HR have more medium-risk assets. Currently, 14 assets are non-compliant and require immediate attention. This dashboard serves as a live feed, helping the asset management team focus their efforts on critical assets.
