Summary
Join Always Invited and help create fun, inclusive events for neurodivergent children and their carers. From preparing food to running kids’ activities or offering support to families, your time will bring joy, connection, and understanding to a community that truly values your contribution.

Times required
Our events are held during the day on weekends, usually running for 2–3 hours. Volunteer shifts are a maximum of 4 hours, and there are also smaller tasks available if you’re unable to commit to the full event. Every bit of support helps make our events possible.

Training Provided
As part of your volunteer experience, you’ll receive lived experience training led by an unpaid carer of a neurodivergent person. This training will not only prepare you for your role but also give you valuable insight into the challenges and strengths of carers and families. It’s a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and connect while making a real difference.

About Always Invited
Always Invited is a welcoming, inclusive community supporting neurodivergent children, young people, and their carers. With recent grant funding, we are hosting a series of exciting events designed to bring families together, reduce isolation, and create fun, supportive spaces where everyone feels they belong.
Volunteer Duties
We have a range of opportunities to suit different interests and skills. Duties may include:
• Preparing food (sandwiches, snacks, or bringing a plate to share)
• Supporting carers and children during events
• Running or assisting with children’s activities
• Making playdough or setting up sensory tables
• Helping with event setup and pack-down
• Providing general event support as needed
Skills & Experience
• No formal experience required – just a caring and reliable attitude
• An interest in supporting carers and neurodivergent children
Ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance from event coordinators
(Optional) Experience in childcare, support work, or community events is welcome but not essential
Training Provided
All volunteers will receive lived experience training from an unpaid carer of a neurodivergent person. This unique training will prepare you for your role while offering valuable insight into the strengths and challenges faced by families in our community.
