History Behind the Artwork:

This is a drawing from a collection of drawings where the artist tried to tell a story inspired by a martians episode of Backyardigans! He remembers his younger brother watching him as he drew and how he explained to his brother what was going on and why the aliens were half and half. The artist had just moved from the US from the Philippines and didn't have any friends, so he turned to art just as he did while attending school in PH.

About the Artist:

Nikolas is a professional artist who recently graduated from SJSU's Animation/Illustration program. He works as a storyboard artist and 2D FX animator. Nikolas started really enjoying art when he was seven years old, drawing dinosaurs and Pokemon. The love grew as he learned how to animate when he was 11. Art growing up was his escape and a fun thing he loved to share with friends and family. Nothing makes Nikolas happier than seeing that something he created made someone smile.
