History Behind the Artwork:
This piece was a school 'bell ringer' activity, meaning students were given ten minutes before the bell sounded to signal class was to start and to finish a quick assignment. The assignment was to create a creature using bdy parts from other animals, real or imaginary. Since this was timed, students were forced to work quickly, really exercising their skills and imaginations.
About the Artist:
Erin Phillips loved crating for as long as she can remember. She was the kid who always added a little something extra to her coloring page or art project. Two and a half years into Erin's college music studies she decided to change to pursuing a degree in Fine Arts, and later obtained an MFA in Media Design from Full Sail University in 2022. If asked to define what art is, she would say art is an expression of individualism. For herself, when it's hard to convey thoughts and feelings in complete sentences, Erin finds it easier to communicate through her artwork.Â
