Senior Economist | Central Bank of Chile
I am a Senior Economist at the Central Bank of Chile working on quantitative macroeconomics and political economy. My research focuses on heterogeneous agents models to study how inequality shapes macroeconomic dynamics through political channels such as polarization, conflict, and policy uncertainty, with a broader interest in how institutions shape economic and political outcomes. A central part of my work also examines firm dynamics, investment, and financial frictions, combining micro-level evidence with structural models. Throughout my work, I place particular emphasis on confronting model mechanisms with empirical evidence. My work at the Central Bank of Chile has provided me with extensive practical experience in macroeconomic policy, particularly monetary policy.
