Our product is Organic Carbon Fiber (OCF). It is made from Abaca or Manila Hemp and is carbonized by the process of pyrolysis. The decorticated fibers are then bonded together in a pure state, without adding any chemical fillers or extenders. The texture and structure of this product can be compared to an exfoliated and expanded Graphite and its versatile quality makes it useful to numerous industrial and electronic applications.

Being an allotrope of carbon, its two-dimensional structure (2D) and hexagonal molecular shape makes it comparable to Graphene in its high energy density and tensile strength. And unlike carbon fibers from petrochemical products, the said versatility can be applied in terms of its length (more than 15 cm) and thickness (1-2 nm), and form (Strands or Flat) depending on how the fibers are post-processed and packaged.

The high conductivity of our OCF can increase the efficiency of materials used as semi-conductors such as Silicon and Germanium when mixed in the correct proportion. In the case of Silicon, once reinforced with OCF, the result is similar to Silicon Carbide (SiC). It can also replace or be added to Graphite in Lithium-ion batteries (as anodes and cathodes) and as Super Capacitors.
