Our Story

Our journey began in 2012 in the El Cangrejo district of Panama City, where we opened our doors within the prestigious Equilibrium Sakkara Med Spa. Driven by a passion for aesthetics and wellness, we later expanded internationally to the Chamberí district of Madrid, Spain, operating as Bioestética y Bienestar, and later rebranding as Bio Bie in 2018.

In 2023, we proudly returned to our roots with a renewed vision, introducing Althea Holistic Spa—a brand dedicated to providing personalized facial treatments, therapeutic massage, body therapies, and holistic wellness experiences with the highest standards of professionalism.

Over a Decade of Experience in Beauty, Spa & Wellness

Since 2012, Althea Holistic Spa has been built on professional experience, continuous education, and a genuine passion for beauty, wellness, and personalized care.

Our experience began in Panama City and later expanded internationally to Madrid, Spain, allowing us to work with clients and professionals in different beauty, spa, aesthetic, and wellness environments.

Our professional background includes experience with luxury hotels, medical spas, aesthetic centers, and wellness facilities, as well as education, workshops, and consulting for beauty and spa professionals.

Our founder is a licensed cosmetologist and Spa Manager with professional training in beauty, wellness, fitness, and human resources, including studies at the University of Vigo in Spain.

This combination of hands-on experience, international exposure, and continuous professional education allows us to create personalized spa experiences with a high level of care and attention to detail.

Today, Althea Holistic Spa brings this experience to clients in Panama City and through our mobile spa services in Panama West, including Coronado, Gorgona, San Carlos, and Chame.

Meet the Founder

Bilqis Vergara Guillén

Spa & Wellness Professional | Licensed Cosmetologist | Educator | Consultant

Bilqis Vergara Guillén is a journalist, licensed cosmetologist, educator, and wellness professional with more than a decade of experience in the beauty, spa, and wellness industry. She is dedicated to helping people enhance their natural beauty and overall well-being through personalized aesthetic treatments, holistic therapies, and professional education.

Her journey into the world of wellness began with her first massage therapy course—an experience inspired by her daughter that became the foundation of a lifelong passion for healing, learning, and serving others. Since then, she has continued to expand her expertise in cosmetology, advanced skincare, spa management, body therapies, wellness, and higher education.

Her international education includes studies in Spa & Wellness at the University of Vigo (Spain), certification as a Spa Manager, certification as a Fitness Instructor from Five Stars School in Madrid, and a Diploma in Human Resources Management. This multidisciplinary background allows her to combine technical excellence, leadership, education, and a client-centered approach to wellness.

Throughout her career, Bilqis has collaborated with luxury hotels, aesthetic centers, medical spas, and wellness facilities in both Panama and Spain, including Crina Rus Beauty Center. In addition to providing professional spa services, she is passionate about mentoring future beauty professionals, delivering educational workshops, and consulting for entrepreneurs and wellness businesses.

Through Althea Holistic Spa, Bilqis continues to promote a philosophy where beauty is not simply about appearance—it is the result of balance, confidence, health, and self-care.
