"Sarah is such an incredible find! Originally from Calabria, Italy by way of Chicago, her work and skill level is off the charts! I went to her for a series of fittings for my Mother of the Groom gown. Not only was I thrilled with the finished product but I had an opportunity to see some of the other projects she was working on...designing and sewing some very elegant creations of her own...from wedding gowns to cocktail dresses. Wow!!! As an added bonus, she is incredibly honest (don't use her if you just want someone that will "yes" you to death just to get the work) and has a great eye and sense of style. She's also just a wonderful person. I'll be going back to visit her when I return to Naples to tell her about the wedding and give her a big hug!"

"We bought the wedding gown, but, there were so many things that needed to be done to make it "the dress." Who knew a custom purchased gown from another bridal shop would need so much. We were so dismayed.

But, We found Sarah.

Sarah made us feel comfortable right from the start, explaining what needed to be done to make the bridal gown "the dress." A lace jacket had to be sewn to the dress, many details added. She gave us tips on how to look your best and enjoy that special day.

There are quite a few folks that do alterations, but when you need the best Sarah will do it properly. She is a true professional, things must be done the right way.

"I have a runner's racing singlet that one of my coaches gave me as a gift about a year before he passed away. I refuse to run my races in anything else, but after racing a few 5ks, half marathons and full marathons it was clear to me that it was way too long and that I needed it altered. At this point I was torn: I knew my late coach would never want me to sacrifice my times for a shirt that was too long, and that getting used to racing in a shirt that length might not happen. Yet, at the same time, I was scared that if I had it altered it would be ruined. I delayed the decision up until a week before running my fourth marathon - which also happened to be a week before Hurricane Irma hit Naples. After lots of research, my mom and I found Sarah, who - lucky for me - was still in town. I went to meet her and immediately knew I could trust her with something so sentimental. Within two days my racing singlet was the perfect length! She even remembered my special request to keep the scrap for me so that I could use it as a ribbon for my hair! I'm not yet engaged but I know that when the day comes that I have to alter a wedding dress I can trust her. :)"

"Outstanding!! I had Sara create my wedding dress from scratch! She is truly an artist. Her attention to detail is impeccable. She made sure every seam was perfectly straight, every button was aligned, and every beaded flower within my lace was perfectly even. She has a natural eye for beauty and perfection!! I cannot thank her enough for how beautiful my dress came out. I received countless compliments on my wedding day! I love her honesty; she would talk to me through the eye of a fashion artist regarding what patterns went together, what styles fit my body, and helping me look outside of the box by trying ideas slightly out of my norm. I am beyond amazed at how she is able to create such a beautifully perfect gown from a completely blank canvas. We were able to work together wonderfully. I appreciate her honesty, highly value her opinion, and respect how quickly and accurately she works! I will use her for everything from now on! Thank you Sara!"

"I have been working with Sarah since 2007 and have nothing but the absolute BEST THINGS TO SAY ABOUT HER! Sarah has been altering and fixing my pageant gowns for years and is THE ONLY person I trust with them! I remember back in 2009, I found a dress that I loved but was a size 12...I'm a 00! She not only took the dress in but tailored it so that it would fit my body like a glove! When I decided to compete in the Miss USA system I knew the only person I would let touch my dress would be Sarah - even though I brought my dress to her only two weeks before the pageant - she made it work! She is not only extremely talented in her line of work but an overall great person! Every time I step into her home she warmly welcomes my mother & I, makes suggestions for my gown that I wouldn't of even thought of and shows a genuine interest and enthusiasm for my upcoming competitions. Nine years of working with Sarah and she has become not only my seamstress but someone I can call a friend! LOVE LOVE LOVE her - no one else even closely compares to this woman in every aspect!!"

"I brought 2 dresses to Sarah that required some rather complicated alterations. She hemmed both dresses perfectly - one of which had multiple layers. She also altered the tops to fit and flatter my body perfectly. Sarah is obviously a perfectionist and takes pride in her work - she learned her sense of style and alterations abilities 50 years ago in Milan and has been custom designing and altering ever since. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sarah to everyone. Her pricing is very reasonable and she is a delightful person to work with."

When trusting your gown with Sarah you will have the peice of mind that everything will be done in a professional and expert manner. Sarah is kind and to the point. "Sarah is a miracle worker. Literally. I bought my dress at [name removed] and had it altered there twice. They essentially ruined the dress. I found Sarah on Yelp and called in her a panic. She got me in the next morning and knew exactly what to do. She remade the entire dress in 4 days. I do not know what I would have done without her. She is so sweet and unbelievably talented. The quality of her work is exceptional and her attention to detail make her a perfectionist. If you have a gown and need it altered take it to Sarah. She lives to make beautiful brides. "Sarah came highly recommended from my best friend. I decide that even though she was over my budget, I would go with the recommendation. From the first fitting, Sarah was very truthful in her suggestions, took the extra time to ensure that the dress would look amazing. She transformed by dress to fit as if it was made for me. "I'm so sorry, Sarah, that it's taken me this long to write our review since my daughter's wedding was almost a year ago, but ... Sarah is a gifted seamstress! My daughter's dress was purchased at a Barrington wedding salon. They recommended Sarah, and since my daughter was still living out of state, Sarah worked her magic AND her time to alter her already beautiful dress AND make it even more beautiful! She made it a one of a kind by lifting this here and moving that there!! haha! It was like Cinderella's little blue birds were working their magic. Alterations can be more expensive than I dreamed, but Sarah is worth every cent, because she is an artisan extraordinaire!! Thank you, Sarah."

"I found Sarah on Yelp because I needed some tricky alterations to my wedding dress and didn't trust the bridal chain to get them right. Sarah was amazing. She has been doing alteraions her whole life and it shows. She immediately came up with a great solution and transformed my dress into exctly what I had hoped for. She also makes veils and jewelry and has a great eye for putting it all together. It is so nice, in a bridal world where you are normally just a number, to have a real person that cares and takes the time to make your dress special. Thank you Sarah - five stars all the way!"

"A quick backstory at [name of business removed] to show how much fuss I went through before meeting Sarah (skip to the next paragraph to go straight to how amazing Sarah is): I bought my dress at [name removed] after being told that there would be no problem adding sleeves. I was told to order it in extra long so that they could use the extra lace for the straps. Long story short, they did not come even close to what we planned, what I was promised. After the dress came in, I was told there was no way there'd be enough lace for even simple straps. And on top of the straps, they ordered the dress a size too small. The very first fitting I told them I was having trouble breathing. My ribcage could not expand. I couldn't wait to get out of the dress, and that was after a few minutes standing still in air conditioning; how was I going to last the entire day of my wedding? Their suggestion was to not pin it all the way in back, which gave it a slouched appearance in the front. After numerous failed visits to [name removed], I gave up and took the dress home. It was still too tight, and the extra clasp they sewed on the back was showing. The bustle didn't look like how it looked on the mannequin. The straps were uneven, strangely placed, and already starting to come apart at the seams. They were absolutely something I could have done myself in less time, without paying hundreds of dollars. It turned my beautiful dress into a junior high Home Ec project, and it was the week before my wedding.

My then-fiancé saw me come home in tears, went online, and found Sarah through Yelp. From the first phone call, I felt better. She listened to what I had to say, invited me over first thing the next morning, and gave me hope. Right away I put on the dress, and she cut the terrible straps away. Then she started to build new straps piece-by-piece on me, ensuring a perfect fit. You could see the excitement in Sarah about building a beautiful dress. She took out the (uneven) bra cups in the dress, and fit them for me, personally. She could not believe the state of the seams inside the dress from where they had "fitted" it to me. She listened to what I had to say, and when I timidly asked about the keyhole back I had wanted from the beginning ([name removed] was a whole bunch of skeptical faces any time I asked about something; even something simple they had promised me earlier), Sarah got to work and in minutes made a gorgeous Queen Anne neckline with the keyhole back. She also made my veil; and as everything else, it was perfect.

So, all in all, this is what Sarah did for me:

Made time for me even though she was already busy, and with a short timeline.

Hemmed the dress properly so it was even, and I wasn't tripping all over it.

Fixed the bustle so it looked more like a bustle and less like a flap. If I had more time, I would have asked for one of the beautiful French bustles she described to me, but I was already coming to her with loads of issues and only days to work! But for future brides - she knows what she's doing, and her talent feels limitless.

Made the dress fit like a glove. I went from almost passing out in a five minute fitting, to sitting, standing, eating, dancing.. not one second did I ever think I couldn't breathe, or was in the slightest bit uncomfortable. And it wasn't big or slouchy in the slightest! For that alone I'm so grateful!

The straps. I cannot tell you the compliments I got on my dress. The straps made it my own, unique, beautiful bridal gown. I was proud, I was excited, I felt stunning all day/night. They were beautiful on their own, and they made the whole dress absolutely perfect.

I wish I had gone to Sarah straight after buying the dress and skipped the weeks of stress. She made my dress exactly how I had envisioned it; more than I had envisioned it! I was comfortable, confident, and glowing because of her. She knows what she's doing, and she's wonderful to work with. My dress went from a disaster to something I couldn't wait to show off. I'm not a big reviewer on Yelp, but this was important enough to sign up for. I highly, highly recommend Sarah."
