The municipality of Vista Hermosa, Meta, is considered a paradise due to the great variety of birds and plants that can be found there. This is due to the fact that geographically it has a higher level of fertility in its lands. The fauna of this municipality is divided into different species: on the one hand you can find different types of birds such as white herons, hummingbirds, royal parrots, canaries, yellow-breasted birds and even red and green macaws.

On the other hand, mammals are not far behind, since these also cover a bit of the fauna of this territory. The most common animals to find here are pigs, cows, horses, goats, titi monkeys, armadillos and limpets. The oviparous species are also part of this beautiful municipality such as chickens, morrocos, terecas, turtles and iguanas.

Next, we have the reptiles and insects. About the reptiles, you can find cachirres, boas, green iguanas and snakes. As for insects, there are butterflies, ants, bees, cockroaches, crickets, fleas, mosquitoes and cicadas. The flora of this territory is divided by certain types of plants, which provide great benefits to its inhabitants whether they are food, medicine, wood and even beautification for its streets. One of the first types that can be found are medicinal and ornamental plants.

Medicinal plants include paico, mint, basil, mugwort, lemon balm, stonebreaker, poppy and aloe. In the ornamental ones are the dahlias, the hydrangea, the breeze, the red, the lily, the crown of Christ, the sunflowers, the bride and groom, the roses, the carnations and the pink drunkard. Another type of plants that are found here are trees, in the part of the trees there are two species: timber and fruit trees.

The timber trees are Laurel, Caño Fisto, Macano, Apocalypto, Cedar, Tres Tablas, Caimo, Trompillo, Ceiba, Guasimo and Chivecha. As for the fruit trees, there are mangoes, mandarins, oranges, pumarosas, soursops, nonis, lemons, pears, avocados and passion fruits. Lastly, there are two really beautiful plants that cover a large part of this municipality, these plants are known as orchids and moriche palms.
