This Privacy Policy describes how Alter Ego: AI Companion ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide to Us

The App collects information you voluntarily provide to function effectively as your personalized AI companion:

• Profile Data: When you set up the App, we store your chosen Name, Mission/Goal, and the AI Name locally on your device.

• Chat History: The text conversations between you and the AI are stored locally in a database on your device.

• User Content: If you use the image analysis feature, the images you select are temporarily processed to provide a response.

B. Automatically Collected Information

• Device & Location Data (SIM Card): The App checks your device's SIM card country code (e.g., "GB" or "US") solely to determine whether the AI should use British English or American English spelling. We do not track your precise GPS location.

• AdMob Data: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use unique device identifiers (Advertising ID) to serve personalized ads.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

1. To Provide the Service: To generate personalized AI responses using the Google Gemini API.

2. To Personalize Experience: To remember your goals and preferred name.

3. To Localize Content: To ensure the AI speaks the correct dialect of English (UK/US) based on your region.

4. To Show Advertisements: To display interstitial ads via Google AdMob.

3. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Your chat history, user profile, and goals are stored locally on your device using an encrypted database. We (the developers) do not have access to your private conversations.

• API Transmission: Your text inputs and uploaded images are sent securely to Google's Gemini API for processing. This data is not used to train Google's models in a way that personally identifies you, in accordance with Google's API data policy.

4. Third-Party Services

We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:

• Google Gemini API: For generative AI text and image processing.

• Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements.

These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

5. Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers.
