A simple "Community Support Cycle" structure, capable of printing any company's money, such as a bar or a brewery, "Beer Money", that can be "bought" for an equivalent number of "National Money", which is used to support local "good deeds" such as the Volunteer Fire Department's equipment requirements.
"If it will buy you beer, it must be money!", similarly for bread, etc. The "National Money" collected is very publicly passed on to the relevant "good causes" who can spend national money as they usually do.
In the case of a local shop, a large glass jar on the counter for the national money, and putting the "beer money" bought by beer drinkers directly into the till of the bar makes the points very clearly.
Bank cards could be used to purchase some conventional money, that is put in the glass jar, while the beer money goes into the till, as with a cash payment.
The bar can spend its own money with other participating businesses, and entertainers for beer drinkers, etc. Also it might be in part paid to redecorate the bar, and would be liable for tax, as appropriate, both for liability and for tax-deductible, and exemptions.
Also, involving a local "butcher, baker and candle-stick maker" broadens the economic base, and proves that "business issued money" can be used for transactions not only with the issuing business, but also with other "participating businesses".
