Hi, I’m Ken Kowalski and I’m living with ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease since 2007 which makes me a #ALSsurvivor. ALS is a devastating disease that gradually paralyzes the body and affects the ability to breathe, speak and move. But I’m not giving up on life ,it's just different now. Prior to ALS, I enjoyed Scuba Diving, Surfing, Triathlons and travel with my wife Carol, who is my hero and caregiver. Now I have my adventures from my hi-tech wheelchair or in front of my big-screen. But living with ALS is also very expensive and challenging. I need a lot of medical equipment, supplies and professional help to stay at home and avoid infections. Medicare doesn’t cover everything and we have to pay a lot of money out of our own pocket. We are talking about $150,000 a year or more. That’s a huge amount for anyone, let alone for someone who can’t work anymore. That’s why I’m asking for your help. Any donation you can make will help us pay for the things I need to live with dignity and comfort. You will also help us reduce the stress and worry that comes with this situation.
