Dr. Li Pi Shan graduated with his MD (with great distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan in 1998, and then moved on to complete his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). Before coming to Calgary, Dr. Li Pi Shan worked as an Assistant Professor, Residency Program Director, and Undergraduate Program Director for PM&R at the University of Saskatchewan.
As a Physiatrist, Dr. Li Pi Shan specializes in Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Spasticity, Electromyography, and ALS. He has published as lead investigator in a number of peer-reviewed journals. He is also a Past-President, Canadian Association of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
"My research has been varied and has focused on brain injury, neuromuscular diseases with ALS in particular, as well as spasticity. In addition, I am very interested in the use of ultrasound in neuromusculoskeletal disorders and have been instrumental in organizing educational activities to introduce this modality to our learners." -Dr. Li Pi Shan
Dr. Chris Grant is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences as well as the Department of Critical Care Medicine, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. His inpatient practice includes critical care rehabilitation and trauma rehabilitation at the Foothills Medical Centre as well as general rehabilitation consults at the Peter Lougheed Centre. His outpatient practice includes brain injury rehabilitation through the Calgary Brain Injury Clinic as well as directing the ICU Recovery Clinic for Calgary. He completed his medical degree at the University of British Columbia (2008) and his specialty training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of British Columbia (2013).
