Family and Social Services Administration
Administration (FSSA) is the state agency that oversees Medicaid and other health and social service programs. FSSA manages the Indiana Health Coverage Programs, which include:
Hoosier Healthwise – For children and pregnant women
Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) – For uninsured adults ages 19–64
Hoosier Care Connect – For aged, blind, and disabled individuals
Medicaid Waiver Programs – For seniors and people with disabilities needing home and community-based services
FSSA ensures that eligible Hoosiers have access to healthcare, long-term care, and support services through partnerships with managed care entities and providers.
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is one of Indiana’s leading Medicaid health plans. Anthem offers programs like Hoosier Healthwise, Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP), and Hoosier Care Connect, providing members with access to preventive care, wellness programs, and a broad network of doctors and hospitals. CareSource is a nonprofit managed care organization dedicated to improving health and well-being for Indiana Medicaid members.
