For the first time in Kerala, ALPS Alathur introduces Electromagnetic ID cards for kids in schools. Shri. Prof. Raveendran, the then-Educational Minister, gave the inaugural speech.

When students arrive at school in the morning and return in the evening, the system is set up such that parents receive a text message on their phone. This is accomplished by tapping the ID card issued to the students electronically.
