This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile application Alpha Image to Text (“we”, “our”, “the App”) handles your information. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Introduction
Alpha Image to Text is an offline Android application that uses on-device Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract text from images that you capture with your camera or select from your device gallery.
We respect your privacy and have designed this App so that it works without collecting, storing, or sharing your personal data.
2. Information We Collect

The App does not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information such as:
Your name
Email address
Phone number
Contacts
Precise location
Account or login information
No Account or Login
The App does not require you to create an account or sign in. All features are available without registration.
3. Images and OCR Data
On-Device Processing Only
The App uses on-device OCR technology to extract text from images. All image processing and text recognition are performed locally on your device.
The App does not:
Upload your images to any external server
Upload extracted text to any server
Sync your data to the cloud
Share your images or text with third parties
Images that you capture or select are only used temporarily inside the App for the purpose of text extraction. They remain stored on your device under your control.
4. Permissions Used
To provide its core functionality, the App may request the following permissions:
Camera
Permission: android.permission.CAMERA
Purpose: This permission is used only to allow you to capture photos within the App so that text can be extracted from those photos. The camera is not used for any other purpose.
Storage / Media Access
Depending on your Android version, the App may request one of the following permissions:
android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below), or
android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (Android 13 and above)
These permissions are used solely so that you can select images from your device’s gallery for text extraction.
The App does not:
Scan your entire storage
Upload your media files
Access files without your explicit action (such as choosing an image)
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses Google ML Kit for on-device text recognition (OCR). According to Google’s documentation, when using on-device models, images and text are processed locally and are not uploaded to Google servers by the OCR engine.
The App does not integrate:
Advertising SDKs (such as AdMob, Facebook Ads, etc.)
Analytics services (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, etc.)
Social media login or tracking SDKs
6. Data Storage
The App does not store user data on any external servers. Any images or text processed by the App remain only on your device.
Extracted text may remain visible inside the App’s interface until you clear it or close the App. We do not create remote backups of your images or text, and we do not sync your data across devices.
If you uninstall the App, all App-related data stored on your device will be removed as part of the normal uninstall process.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is suitable for users of all ages and does not collect personal information from children.
Since we do not collect any personal data, we do not knowingly collect information from children under any specific age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has shared personal information through the App, you may contact us, although by design the App does not request or store such information.
8. Security
While the App does not collect or store personal data, we still aim to handle all permissions and local operations in a secure and responsible manner.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, including controlling access to the device and any images or text processed by the App.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect:
Changes in the App’s features or functionality
Changes in legal or regulatory requirements
Improvements in our privacy and security practices
When we update the Privacy Policy, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. You are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted will be considered your acceptance of those changes.
