In January 2014, a need for the work of Zeta in the Newnan, Georgia area was recognized. Thus, the clerical process began to establish a new chapter.
In February 2014 the chapter's paperwork was presented to Southeastern Regional Director, Dr. Felicia Scott Strickland. In April 2014, the creation of a new chapter was approved.
On April 7th, 2014 an official announcement of Georgia’s first four letter graduate chapter, Alpha Alpha Kappa Zeta (AAKZ), located in Newnan, Georgia was made.
The chapter's nine charter members are: Dr. Terri N. Bell, Susette Gooden, Naundra Lyon-Heidelberg, Shaunta Miranda, Florence Mitchell, Vikki Mitchell, Milrinette T. Nelson, Valerie Todd, and Dr. Tamica Williams-Gomillion. The chapter's first transfer member, Garrysa Caffey, joined in June 2014.
Alpha Alpha Kappa Zeta chapter hit the ground running by participating in many service projects and building partnerships within the community.
