↠↠  In Alpen, we believe that Faith should be considered the most important thing to a community for several profound reasons, particularly within the context of a Christian community. Here are a few key points, drawn from biblical teachings, that illustrate why faith is foundational. 

1. Faith is the Foundation of Christian Identity: In a Christian community, faith is the cornerstone of individual and collective identity. Faith in Jesus Christ is what distinguishes Christians from the world and binds them together as part of the Body of Christ. Ephesians 2:19-22 emphasizes that Christians are "members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone." The unity of the community is rooted in shared faith in Christ.

2. Faith is the Source of Hope: Faith is what gives believers hope in God's promises, both in this life and for eternity. Romans 15:13 says, "Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost" A community that is grounded in faith will remain hopeful, even in times of adversity, and this hope is contagious and uplifting to all members.

3. Faith Strengthens and Sustains the Community: Faith provides spiritual strength and resilience. In times of hardship, it is faith that sustains the community, encouraging its members to persevere and trust in God’s plan. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Through faith, believers can face challenges with confidence, knowing that God is working in all circumstances for their good.

4. Faith Leads to Love and Unity: Faith in Christ leads to love, which is the bond that unites a Christian community. Galatians 5:6 teaches, "For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love." When the community shares a common faith in Christ, it empowers them to love one another selflessly, creating a deep, genuine unity that transcends differences.

5. Faith Informs Moral and Ethical Living: A strong, shared faith in God influences the ethical and moral behavior of the community. Faith in God’s Word provides guidance for living justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly.

↠↠  We choose unity because unity is essential for the survival and success of a community for several reasons: 

1. Unity serves as the lifeblood of a community, binding individuals together into a cohesive entity working toward shared goals. It ensures that everyone contributes to the collective vision.
   
   

2. Without a collective mindset, selfishness, inefficiency, and conflict arise, breaking down trust and cooperation. This fragmentation leads to wasted resources, undermined efforts, and potential collapse.
   
   

3. Thriving as a community requires every member to act as part of a greater whole, like cells in a biological organism, working selflessly for the good of all.
