In 2014 Carl's Jr/Hardees, a fast-food chain restaurant, needed to market its new "Texas BBQ Thickburger," a 1/3 to 1/2 pound beef burger with barbecue sauce, fried jalapeno and onion strips, American cheese, and smoked beef brisket, to American consumers. The Carl's Jr/Hardees Corporation chose to employ Paris Hilton and Hannah Ferguson as models in an advertisement that barely included the sandwich.
Figure 1
The main plot point of this ad is a thin, white, attractive women clad in looks to be a leather bikini, that resembles bondage attire, cleans a mud covered truck and eats a burger while doing so. In Killing us softly 4 Jean Kilbourne said "primary purpose of media is to advertise sex, normalcy, and success." This ad represents this, you have a attractive women, doing a "women's jobs" (cleaning and giving someone pleasure and entertainment), and shes in a big nice barn/garage with a expensive truck. Just as a reminder this is an ad for a burger.
This commercial plays into a fantasy of sex and dominance. In Two Ways A Women Can Get Hurt advertisement "is designed to play into the fantasies.."(Kilbourne, pg 496-497 par.3). In figure 2 the viewer sees a women on her back shoving a burger into her mouth, not only is it a choking hazard, it seems pornographic. She has her backed arched and her legs are spread almost as if this experience of eating is a stimulating experience.
In figure 3 the fantasies of dominance with the women being on her knees and crawling like an animal. While this doesn't seem all that bad, the repercussions could be awful. Kilbourne states "Male violence is subtly encouraged by ads that encourage men to be forceful and dominant" (Pg 489 par. 3). Someone could see this ad (as well as others) and decide that another person should be this sexual object crawling around. And if that person has been twisted by media enough they might decide consent isn't needed.

Figure 3
The model is 22-years-old when this was filmed, she is an adult women. The definition of a girl typically a female child. In Two Ways A Women Can Get Hurt it says "Young girls, or course, are especially vulnerable [to sexualisation]. (Kilbourne, Pg. 504 par. 1). A viewer can see a imagine such as figure 4, see "TEXAS GRL" on a license plate and assume someone as young as 16 who just got their licence owns the car. They might take it a step further and think the woman washing the car is the said underage driver. That could led to implication it's alright to look at a underage person like that. A underage girl could see this as well, come to see came thought process but end up thinking that she needs to look like that and act like this women, who is an adult.
In conclusion, this ad is borderline soft core pornography and this along with the hundreds of advertisements similar could led to troubling things. Hardees/Carl's Jr. doesn't seem to care all that much considering almost all their advertisements are like this and they all barley include their product, to put it into reference this commercial is 55 seconds long and only has about 17 seconds of the burger.
