This course was created to support the experiential learning of student employees within a university. In collaboration with the Student Employment/JLD Coordinator, I designed and implemented a badged, nine-module course focused on each NACE Career Readiness Competency (additionally including financial wellness ethical AI use).
Audience: Undergraduate student employees at a large 4-year institution that serves an FTE of ~50k students
Responsibilities: Lead design and development meetings with SME, manage all project timelines and expected deliverables, ensure design meets accessibility, usability, and engagement targets.
Tools Used: Canvas LMS, LinkedIn Learning integration, Suitable
💡 This course leveraged Canvas requirements and offered a badge once students submit completed all modules.
The course design utilizes the NACE Career Readiness Competencies as module topics, each highlighting a LinkedIn Learning video related to this competency along with workplace scenarios and reflections.
One point of emphasis in this course was designing a way to engage the student employee supervisors when and where possible withought heavy lifting on their part. We incoporated a Supervisor Stop. These stops include discussion questions and/or activities and the NACE Competency Tool rubrics in which they can assess and reflect with their employees on a specific competency.
