Career Readiness Modules

In order to support the strategic goals of the organization's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), I designed a collection of modules to be infused into academic programs across a large university. I collaborated with executive-level subject matter experts and other professionals across the institution to develop high-quality learning experiences with specialized instructional content and assessments. These individual learning experiences targeted career development and readiness for undergraduate students on topics such as career exploration, networking, internship or job search, graduate school prep, and many more. Each module was grounded in NACE's Career Readiness Competencies, supporting efforts for students to have a successful entrance into the workforce .

Overview

Audience: Undergraduate students at a large 4-year institution that serves an FTE of ~50k students

Responsibilities: Lead design and development meetings with SMEs, manage all project timelines and expected deliverables, ensure design meets accessibility, usability, and engagement targets.

Tools Used: Canvas LMS, Quinncia (AI), Big Interview, Lightcast, Suitable

💡This design project included the utilization of AI platforms within assessments.

Strategic Goal (QEP)

ExCeL, USF’s current QEP, is focused on Experiential Centered Learning with the mission of increasing the career readiness of undergraduates by expanding their skills and experience through meaningful experiences that will contribute to their career and educational success.

Student Learning Outcomes (QEP)

As a result of the implementation of the current ExCeL QEP, USF’s student participants will be able to:

Identify and evaluate experiential centered learning opportunities that align with their unique career goals.
Demonstrate career readiness competencies acquired through courses and experiences.
Communicate effectively the career readiness competencies, skills, and experiences developed in specific courses.
Communicate effectively the career readiness competencies, skills, and experiences developed through experiential centered learning opportunities.

The Career-Readiness modules were developed to support the infusion of experiential learning and career-readiness into academic courses.

Career Navigator Series
A set of scaffolded modules that build on career-readiness competencies over four different levels.
Topic-Based Modules
A collection of modules on specific topics of career development, including resumé writing, internship search, and interviewing to name a few.
Activities
A group of activities that assist in the tracking of a student's experiential learning lifecycle while matriculating through their degree program.

Career Navigator Modules

The Career Navigator suite is a scaffolded series intented for students to engage in through each level of their degree program. The infusion of these modules, facilitated through the Faculty Champion program, encourages career-readiness, development, and experiential learning opportunities at each step.
