Capt Anthony Manning afterwards Major Anthony Manning was married the first time to Miss Elisa Ball Scott a daughter of William Scott a Scotsman and Rebecca Ball on Thursday December 6th 1818 at early c.....(?) light --- and she died the first or 31st of May 1827

Major Anthony Manning was married to his second wife Miss Harriet Willis on the 6th of November 1828..she Harriet Manning died on the 29th of December 1837. She was the daughter of John Willis and Margaret Satterfield ---Major Anthony Manning was the son of Anthony Manning who came from England and his wife Rebecca Griffith came from France

Major Anthony Manning was married the third time to Miss Ann Gootee the 10 (?) of May and died May 7th 1849 after a lingering and painful illness from periostitis accompanied by an agonizing killing headache

Annie Manning whom they all called Nancy, daughter of Anthony Manning the Englishman and Rebecca the French lady his wife was born Nov. 25th 1780

Rosannah Manning daughter of Anthony Manning the Englishman and Rebecca the French lady his wife- was born the 14th day of January 1783

Rebecca Manning daughter of Anthony Manning the Englishman and Rebecca his wife was born July 5th 1785.

Thomas Manning son of Anthony Manning the Englishman and Rebecca the French lady his wife was born was born don't remember when he died

Sophia S. Manning daughter of Anthony Manning the Englishman & Rebecca the French lady his wife-was born the 14th of May 1793

Maryetta Rebeccah Manning daughter of Major Anthony and Elisa Manning his wife was born November 22d 1811 and departed this life July 29th 1812

Adoniah Nathaniel Manning son of Major Anthony and Elisa Manning his wife was born June 24th 1813 and departed this life October 6th 1817

William Thomas Manning son of Major Anthony Manning and Elisa Manning his wife was born October 28th 1815 and was married to his first wife Mary Ann Hassard daughter of Rev John T _____ Hassard presiding elder in the Methodist Episcopal Church-May 25th 1843 and to his second wife Margaret H. Smith the ------- and she died February 21st 1875

Elizabeth Ann Manning daughter of Major Anthony and Elisa Manning his wife was born October 11th 1817 and was married to her first husband Col John Vincent-the second day of September 1834 & Col John Vincent her first husband was born the 9th day of March 1782 & died the 29th of September 1852 aged 72 years 6 months & 20 days - and she married William Twilley for her second husband and he died

Emily Lavina Manning daughter of Major Anthony, and Elisa Manning his wife was born October 12th 1819 and was married to John Francis Hayward Vincent February 21st 1841- he died

and she died

One child was born and died between Emily Lavina Manning and her brother Anthony Washington Griffith Manning who comes next in the order of births

Anthony Washington Griffith Manning son of Major Anthony and Elisa Manning his wife was born May 13th 1822 and died October 16th 1824

Rebeccah S. Manning daughter of Major Anthony and Elisa Manning his wife was born April 23rd 1824 and died September 24th 1827

One child was born and died after Rebeccah. Sophia Manning above named at the birth of which child who died unnamed Mrs. Elisa Ball Manning also died

Anthony Lafayette Manning son of Anthony Manning and Harriet his wife was born December the nineteenth eighteen hundred and thirty one --

My dear father Major Anthony Manning wrote Dr. A.L. Manning's age as above on this slip of paper when he was born, and placed it in a secret drawer in his private secretary, eseritor (?)

Dr. Anthony Lafayette Manning surgeon in the United States Army during the great American rebellion, in the time of President Abraham Lincoln-and son of Major Anthony Manning and Harriet his wife was born December 19th 1831 and was married to Sarah Elizabeth Mackey daughter of Philip Mackey and Margaret Ann Adelaide Green (?) on the 27th if October 1853 - in the morning and she was born March 30th 1834 and was just as changeable as the month that gave her birth

Dr. Anthony L. Manning, was taken suddenly ill on Friday at 10 O'clock with heart-disease- Jan 25th 1878, & died Saturday P.M. 10 O'clock Jan 26th 1878----

Eugenia Sophia Manning daughter of Major Anthony Manning and Harriet his wife was born June 27th 1834-and married her first husband Dr. Wm Vans Murray Edmondson on Monday December 24th 1855 and he was born April 8th 1810 and died March 29th 1863-twenty-five minutes to five o'clock aged 52 years 11 months & 29 days-She married her second husband Dr. James Henry Thomas September 17th 1873- he was born October 7th 18?7 & died June 20th 1909-of heart-trouble paralysis and complication of diseases buried in East New Market Cemetery.

Harriet Emma Manning daughter of Major Anthony Manning and Harriet his wife was born January 15th 1837 and died the 15th of November 1840 a bright golden curly headed, deep blue eyed, rosy cheeked, laughing little girl whom Fowler the great theologist said was the greatest wit that he ever put his hands on the head of
