Mock Tests Dates and Signup

PLEASE NOTE that the mocks offered here will not replicate computer-based tests.  The computer-based SAT is completely different from the paper-based version.

The ACT, on the other hand, has the same content and format for the computer-based and paper-based versions, and given the limited computer-based tests available to do as mocks, doing a paper-based mock of the ACT may be an important part of one's preparation strategy.

To do a computer-based SAT, go to the College Board or the Khan Academy sites.  To do a computer-based SAT, go to the act.org site.  For more information, contact Lucas Medeiros at 21-96545-5004

SAT and ACT Mock Tests

While instructions for students to administer and score a mock of a college-entrance-exam on their own are available for both the SAT and the ACT, doing a group mock is a better way to replicate the real test experience.

The mocks will be administered via Google Meet.  Upon signup, participants will be provided with a link to the video conference and links to the electronic versions of the test materials, which should be printed out before the test date.

Sign Up for a Remotely Administered Mock Test

To sign up for a remotely administered group mock, students must fill out the forms under the Mock Dates header below.  The sign-up must be completed by 11:59 PM on the Wednesday before the scheduled mock date.  This early sign up allows us to adequately organize the mock test.  Late sign ups may be  accommodated  (but not guaranteed) by contacting Lucas Medeiros at 21-96545-5004.

Mock Dates

Available Paper-Based SAT Mock Dates (United States Only)

Please note that the paper-based test will only be offered in the United States.  All the SATs taking place outside the US will not be computer-based and the mocks below will not replicate that experience.

Mock - Saturday, May 13

Mock - Saturday, May 27

-- Real SAT - Saturday, June 3 (Register by May 4)--

Available ACT Mock Dates

The demand for ACT mocks has been low and currently there are no scheduled dates.  Please contact lmedeirostutor@gmail.com to schedule a mock test or follow the link to self-administer an ACT.

Post Signup Instructions

If by the Wednesday deadline students have (1) completed the signup form, (2) made the payment, and (3) sent the receipt to lmedeirostutor@gmail.com, they will be provided a link with the materials to be printed and a separate link to participate in the video conference.  These links will be provided via email by the Friday before the test (but likely on Thursday).

The mock tests will be administered at 9:00 AM on Saturday or Sunday, depending on the test date.  To allow us to start promptly at 9:00 AM, please plan to log in to the video conference by 8:45 AM.  Tests like SAT and ACT will take approximately 4 hours, so expect the test to be over by around 1 PM.

After the completion of the test, the administrator will help participants to correct and score the test, but the correction and scoring process is the responsibility of each participant.

Prior to the day of the mock test, participants should prepare a room where they can quietly take the test.  This room should have a desk and a computer with internet access.  All applications and web-browser windows on that computer should be closed with the exceptions of the video conference.  Ideally, the room should also have a clock.

Before the test, participants will have received an email with a link to the video conference through which the test will be administered and links to the necessary materials to be printed for the test: the test itself and the bubble answer sheet.

Besides printing the test materials, participants should also bring a number 2 pencil (or pencils), an eraser and a calculator to the testing room.  Participants may also bring a wristwatch, but it can’t make any noise during the test.  Finally, it’s good to bring a bottle of water and a snack.
