All Things New is a five-part interactive series designed to help build a resurrection faith. Each part focuses on a different theme of resurrection: the introduction to the series, preparation, death, grief, and new life, and is focused around scripture and reflection. Each part includes a short (around 5 minutes) podcast with the chosen scripture, questions for reflection, the text of the podcast, and a prayer.
You can find materials at the bottom of the page, as well as an introductory packet to share with particpants, if you choose, that includes the instructions and ideas from this page.
Responding to the reflection questions is a key part of this curriculum. Below are some ways you might consider bringing your group's reflections together.
No Tech
Journal about individual answers to the reflection questions.
Discussion group or pairs share responses to the reflection questions.
Low Tech
Interview your group members on video about their responses to the questions and put together a video to share in community worship.
Invite your congregation or those outside the group to answer the questions and post photos and responses around the building.
High Tech
Post reflection questions on social media and invite community response.
Create a video series for YouTube with the group's responses.
Adapt the curriculum to what best works for you!
For example, you might have your group write your own prayers in response instead of using the included prayers.
You might choose to run this program over a five week period, or maybe you'll work through it during Holy Week (begin with the Introduction on Wednesday and do one a day).
It is designed to work with varying levels of scriptural and theological knowledge. Everyone from beginners to seasoned church goers will find something to reflect upon. Add your own questions to the curriculum or bring in additional scripture.
This program is only the beginning.
Consider how you can make it interactive. What rituals can your community create to grieve together when things change (part 4)? How can you bring these ideas into sermons throughout the year? The goal is to build skills and capacity for reflection and to be able to conceptualize the theological pieces of Christ's resurrection in other parts of our lives and our communal life.
