The Monthly Menstrual Cycle plays a crucial role in every women life. It consists of 4 phases that include:
1. Follicular: This phase begins after completion of the periods & lasts for the first 2 weeks of the Menstrual cycle. During this phase, the lining of the uterus (endometrium) develops under the effect of the oestrogen hormone. At this phase, women experience an increase in watery vaginal discharge at the initial stage.
2. Ovulation: During this phase of ovulation, the process for releasing eggs for fertilization is carried out due to the surge in Luteinizing Hormone under the effect of oestrogen. It lasts for only a couple of days.
3. Luteal: At this phase, the progesterone hormone begins to increase & the endometrium ripens & congests. Luteal lasts from the end of ovulation till the onset of the menstruation phase. During this period, the healthy vaginal discharge increases before the commencement of the menstrual period.
4. Menstruation cycle: ‘Menstruation cycle’ is a critical phase of the Monthly Menstrual Cycle. During this phase, women discharge the menstrual fluid consisting of the dead lining of the uterus, mucus, & blood from their vaginal region. This phase lasts, on an average, for around 3-8 days. During this phase, women’s undergoes extensive pain & weakness due to the heavy loss of blood through the vagina of the women.
Tips for maintaining Menstrual Health Hygiene
It is advised to take care of whole body hygiene regularly to prevent disease actions & infections. But extra prevention should be given to body hygiene during the phase of the Menstruation cycle. Women are advised to take extra care of their intimate parts. Also, Menstrual Cycle Health is an essential factor that needs to be considered by everyone to avoid difficulties at the time of pregnancy & other body-related issues. Following are the tips that needs to be considered for gaining a better Menstrual Health Cycle:
1. Drink Plenty of water to avoid the problem of dehydration.
2. Avoid Fast & junk food as it impacts the body health to a significantly larger extent. Instead of it try to consume green leafy vegetables & fruits like Papaya, etc.
3. As discharged, blood from the vagina is a rich nutritional source for the bacteria to grow; hence it is advised to wash your genitals gently with fresh water from the front to the backside of the body.
4. Use a clean cotton cloth for drying the region to avoid infection.
5. Change Sanitary pads regularly at an interval of 4-5 hours.
6. Avoid taking painkillers while undergoing menstruation cycle pain.
7. Regularly wash your underwear because unwashed clothes exposed to sweat for a long time results in infections.
By keeping all these tips in mind, the Menstrual Health cycle can be improved. That ultimately reflects in the form of better physical health.
