1. Water right
Water early in the morning, not at night (prevents fungus)
Deep water 2–3 times per week, not a little every day
Lawns need about 1 inch of water per week
2. Feed the lawn
Use fertilizer 2–4 times per year (spring & fall are key)
Organic fertilizers are safer for kids, pets, and pollinators
Don't overdo it - too much can burn the lawn
3. Handle weeds early
Pull weeds by hand if they're small
For large patches, use spot treatments (safely!!)
Keep edges trimmed to stop weeds from spreading
4. Clean it up
Rake up leaves, sticks, or grass clumps after mowing
Don't let things pile up - your grass needs sunlight and air
Aerate 2-3 times a year if soil gets compacted
