Researching the intersections of language and media
Researching the intersections of language and media
I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Linguistics at Reed College (2025-2026). I completed my PhD research in sociolinguistics in 2024 at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I also hold an MA in Linguistics from UIUC and a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from New York University.
My research focuses on intersections of language, media, social power structures - especially gender and sexuality. I use mixed methods and work across the fields of sociolinguistics, linguistic anthropology, pragmatics, and women and gender studies, with additional interests in phonology and historical linguistics.Â
In my free time I paint, swim, and take long walks with my dog Juniper.
